Small correction, you mean AOSP, which CM is based on.
AOKP = Android Open Kang Project is a completely different project, which like CM, is based on AOSP.

As I understand it, custom Android firmware is available as stock base, AOSP, AOKP and MIUI. Stock base is based on stock, AOSP is straight Google with no alterations, AOKP is enhanced AOSP and I'm not sure about MIUI, but apparently it has no app drawer.

Just checked, and Cyanogenmod is part of AOKP. On their website and everything.

I am not sure where you see on their website that they are part of AOKP? They are basically parallel projects, both based on AOSP source. They may share certain code/features aside from AOSP though.

It doesn't matter that they're based on AOSP. They have to be don't they if they aren't basing their firmware off Samsung? I was referring to the official AOKP website. If AOSP is the Nexus experience, CM can't possibly be an AOSP ROM, because that's not CM. I've run Omega AOKP, and it's lifted straight from CM with barely any change.

I am on the 4.2.2 I hate it, so bloody crap I want to go back, what is the latest official version?
I think the last one I was on, 4.2.1 ? Could that be right? That was awesome, any links please guys?

Referred to as AOSP based roms, or commonly AOSP roms, yes the latter is technically incorrect. Both cm and kang

They're built from the original source
 
I have never said that either CM or AOKP are AOSP ROM's - I said thay are based on AOSP.
Indie's Omega AOKP might seem like it is lifted from CM, but it's because it take sources from both CM AND AOKP, so it's description isn't 100% correct in saying that it's AOKP.

my google navigation randomly just inverted itself,It shows me in front of the arrow, not behind. So then when it says turn left the screen shows turn right from my point of view. Hard to explain without a screen shot, will take one next time I am using it. How do i fix this

4.2.2 works pretty well on the S4, and it looks like they are planning on porting quite a few features from the S4 to the S3. I would try it on my wife's S3, but she doesn't like me messing with it too much :p

Ok. I will try to load this on my S3 as soon as I get more than one person saying it works 100% on their S3 :p

I installed it earlier today using mobile odin. Had a few programs Arabic apps (which I froze with Titanium) and a bootup screen for some strange company. On the Antutu benchmark test is scores about 500 points less that previous test, but overall the phone feels quicker. Way smoother switching between screens and almost no lag at all when selecting the Phone icon.

4.2.1? When I installed it, it worked fine, but my cellular modem (3G) did not work, I could only use WiFi. Also, when I restarted the phone, it wanted to reconfigure itself from scratch again. :(
