Anything other than stock should be good. I have been using CM10 for a week now, and will never go back to stock. I prefer simple light ROMs, unlike stock ROMs that's loaded with a lot of stuff you'll never use or need.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference, for me stock ROMs just don't do it.

Siyah kernel have always been good. I've used it on my S2, have yet to give it a try on CM10.

Vodacom does indeed have the pebble blue. Got mine on Wed :D The Samsung rep I spoke to said that they expecting stock in the first week of August.
 
As much as I love the camera, it is useless at night. The pictures are incredibly noisy - very disappointed in that respect...
 
Samsung restores local search on international Galaxy S3 with new OTA

After local search was mistakenly stripped out in the most recent software update for the international Samsung Galaxy S III (Galaxy S3), the manufacturer has this morning issued another update to restore the feature. The update weighs in at just 5MB, and also purports to offer "stability improvements." Delving into the "About device" page, we can see a new software version, XXBLG8, along with a new baseband, XXLG8, plus a new Linux kernel built just yesterday morning. The software's still based upon Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The feature has been the subject of an ongoing legal dispute in the U.S., where Apple has been granted a patent broadly covering searching from multiple databases on a mobile device and displaying the results in a certain way. Apple's patent complaints recently resulted in the Galaxy Nexus being briefly withdrawn from sale.

Samsung first pulled local search on the international Galaxy S3 on Wednesday, giving the impression that it, like the U.S. versions, were having functionality stripped out so as to avoid further litigation from Apple. Yesterday the company released a statement indicating that the move had been made "inadvertently," and that it'd be restored within in a few days. Just 24 hours later and it's back on our unlocked UK Galaxy S3, so kudos to Samsung for the quick turn-around.

I am getting about 18hours off my battery, not great. And that Is wIth average use. What are you guys getting? Read stories where guys were getting 2 days.

From the pictures i've taken they seem okay. Compared to most other smartphones the pics are quite good. What exactly were you expecting? Its LED flash. Phones generally never perform that well in dark conditions (S3's night mode actually does quite a good job). If u want to take really good pics at night, u're gonna need a xenon flash.

i get around 16-18 hours with 5-6 hours screen time. "not great". u do realize this is a smartphone right, they're only supposed to last for about a day (at least until we start using newer and better battery technology). This beast has a 4.8inch screen, expecting more seems a little silly. And in comparison to other smartphones (battery life specific) it pretty much takes the crown.

2days is only manageable with very light use. If u're going to use your phone properly, u have to pretty much charge it once a day.

Shooo I wish I could tell you, I would say at a really rough guess, 3 - 4 hours? I mean I can't really complain, its not like I am not close to a charger when I need one, so really is not a huge issue. I can be anal about things like this at times :p

So I effectively have a choice between incredibly noisy (auto):

On my notification bar I have this round logo with a droplet inside. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

wow you tube is a data hungry monster! watched a 1:84 video last night and it annihilated 20megs of data, that even possible?

Other than that I am not experiencing any excessive usage. using onavo.
 
I can't answer calls when my screen is locked. What am I doing wrong?
I searched the forums but I could not find an answer
