Thanks dude. Is BetterBatteryStats worth it?

I used the app once and got charged for a transfer :( I believe online transactions are "free" but a bit shocked to see when i got charged after using it..

Anybody here with the FNB App on their phone?

Do you also have the following where the menus don't render properly?
showfull.php

Edit: Image not showing

Yes, as Tariq786 stated, same developer and same app. Sometimes not the most recent version on XDA though. It's a catch 22 situation. If you have a rogue app, then this is the best app to detect it. If you have no battery problems then you won't touch it.

I do however think this guy have spent an insane amount of time on this app and it's worth it if you have R20 to spare.

Battery is now on 57% and all I have really done is some whatsapp. Something is ****ed.

Use a processor monitoring app that will give you a timeline of app usage. Ask Google, can't remember a name. There are a few.

Edit: System panel app. Worked well back in the day. Processor usage for each app. Remember to activate monitoring in settings.

Hi,

Just recently moved from iOS to Android and have been using Kies for 2 weeks now and absolutely hate it. Is there any alternatives for this useless app to sync Calendar, Contacts, Tasks etc.

Thanks.

Thanks Krypt, have been a member of XDA for years, so just grabbed it off there. I guess I am also a cheap B@stard now :D

Installed it and will test later on when my phone is charged.

I wouldn't touch kies with a hazmat suit.

Each app has sync (calendar, tasks). Contacts should be migrated to Gmail. The first time you do this is a bit of a schlep. But once it's done its gold.

First export to separate csv file all your contacts from your Android Phone, your old phone contacts, your SIM contacts. There are apps on android to do this (the default contact app should be fine). Take these csv files from wherever (PC, iTunes, Android SD card), and import them to your Gmail contacts on a PC web browser. Then do a merge all duplicates in Gmail. Manually check everything is ok, you don't want to be phoning the mistress instead of the misses. Also you might want to ensure your "My Contacts" only include your personal contacts and not randoms like [email protected]

Then on your Android disable phone contacts, kies sync, SIM contacts , i.e. hide them in the contacts app and disable contact sync in settings> accounts. In the same place make sure Google contacts is set to sync. Now you never have to worry about losing your contacts ever again. Once you're sure all your contacts are on Gmail, delete your phone contacts, kies, etc etc.

Magic.

Calendar. What are you trying to sync? Google? No brainer. Exchange ? No brainer. If it's offline in Windows or something, then again move it to Google, or use Google calendar sync on your PC.

Hi,

Tried, but since I am new to this Android OS, I am not comfortable just installing any software. I would appreciate any recommendation, given your experiences.

Thanks.

Thanks for this in-depth reply. I will definitely look into migrating my contacts to Gmail.

On the Calendar side, I have manage 2 Business Calendar's and a Personal one (Gmail), so the gmail is fine, but not sure how to sync up the Outlook calendars with phone.

Thanks again for your response.

Is it a problem that when the S3 is plugged into a Windows PC, there are 2 unknown drivers in device monitor?
Namely, CDC Serial and SAMSUNG_Android. This is when MTP is selected.

Not to sure how to read the stats from better battery stats and battery widget but from the looks deep sleep seems to be a culprit. What does this mean. Who knows lol

:) No, Deep Sleep is exactly what you want. That means your phone is sleeping properly and no app is bugging it.

Before you go to sleep tonight reboot your phone and then tomorrow morning we look at the rest.

For now.

1. Give us an estimate of your drawn current from BatteryMonitorWidget.

Tap Widget > Tap History (Bottom Left) > Read the first column (under mA)

2. Open BetterBatteryStats

Tap Top Dropdown box and select "Partial Wakelocks" (This is the damn buggers waking your precious up from DeepSleep)

Check the top listed entries. We should find your culprit there.

PS. Screenshots might give better indication.
