Samsung Galaxy S5 announced, SA launch window

Then I have missed it completely because I thought Samsung would at least challenge Iphone when it comes to the 64bit architecture system they have. The S5 is effectively an S4 with a better camera, heart rate monitor and a finger print scanner.
The 4k tv at Dion Wired is scary would give my left arm to have that :-P. So I believe having 2K on a phone would make a diffrence off the 1080p we have currently

Hopefully phone manufactures continue pushing screen tech beyond 500 PPI because we need the tech for VR. 4K on a phone is pretty useless, but the Oculus Rift needs it.

Please explain to me how the human eye could make out such small pixels?

As for the 64bit processor, it is still in development at Samsung

Yes the S5 is quite disappointing. Even the things they could have done, that would have been obvious improvements, they failed to do. The design is ugly, the specs are underwhelming, and the additions seem half-baked. Touchwiz hasn't changed significantly, and there just doesn't seem to be much reason to get this above the S4.

Jstrike I understand your argument but then why did they make 4K tv's effectively it amounts to the same thing. Trust me you can see a difference on the 4K tv's so why are cell phone companies even considering 2K then if its not noticeable to the eye. Exactly the same question as why has the screen rates got stuck at 32 bit and not ever moved up to 64 bit.

That's where I think most people are aggrieved Cerebus we were expecting allot more from the S5 and it was just so underwhelming would rather look at a different phone now than get the S5

Most other comparable phones are on par with the S5. So most people would have to wait until better phones come out.

Will it disappoint in sales ?

Sony must be smiling right now they have two winners the Z1 compact and the z2,depending on which size you want both look fantastic and match the features on the s5.AT least the features that matter.

Meh... Sony z2 looks better but as a solid apple guy il wait for the iPhone 6

Not sure what you mean regarding screen rates and bits, but as to why they would bring 2k to phones? That much is easy. Consumers tend to be swayed by specs without understanding them.

12MP must be better then 8MP. Not necessarily so.
2K must be better than 1080p. Not necessarily so.
etc etc

You can notice the change in picture in a 4K TV because of the screen size. The physical viewing area is much bigger. There is a mathematical equation (It is available somewhere on the internet, but I can't recall it offhand) where you can see the relation between pixel density (which takes into account screen size), and viewing distance

1080p is 2K.

It is an improvement on an already awesome phone franchise. The S4 is brilliant! The S5 looks even better! This negativity is interesting...

If u look at full hd its res comes in at 1920 × 1080 with a pixel density of 2,073,600.
Where 2K which res is 2560 × 1440 with a pixel density of 3,686,400

There is a difference between full hd and 2K as you can see the pizel density is allot more whether you would notice this on a phone is entirely up to how good your eyes are but for the most part it will look allot brighter that's basically it.
So based on this comment I then am in agreement with you JStrike can't believe I just said that lol
