Samsung Galaxy S5

Just ran a test with the charger that came with my S5. Started at 33% at 18:58. I just unplugged at 20:06 and the phone is on 93%. I was wrong earlier, a charge from flat takes my phone 1hr:45min. No idea how some of you get i done in under an hour.

I get similiar results with 2x S4 chargers which I use sometimes.

Even with heavy use while charging I can't get it to take that long :wtf:

Same here. 2A charger charges it just over an hour from 1%, when in use and about 45 minutes when switched off. Using my laptop's USB+ port or USB3 port, it takes around 2 hours.

I am so glad I stuck with a device with a removable battery. S5 takes 2hr15 to charge whereas the extra battery kit swaps in 60 seconds flat including phone startup. I just can't handle having the device attached to a wall for that long!
Also check/replace your USB cable.

got some OTA update now 350Mb file not sure what its for, busy downloading now.

Which network is your device from? LTE?

My 32GB unbranded XFA not showing an update.

EDIT: Wife's VODA XFV LTE has the update pending. Not enough free space though. Meh, 16gb sucks

So don't see any differences so far the only thing new is an app called smart manager that gives you a bit of control over the Battery, Storage and Ram as well as some security (anti virus?) function.
The storage has a nice button for deleting unnecessary files cleared 3Gb from my phone

Anybody know where I can source a electric blue sview wireless cover in UK?
Amazon UK and Samsung UK out of stock.

Something strange happening which I never experienced with my S4 - several times now I have felt heat in my pants pocket only to find the phone unlocked with the screen on and mails replied to with gibberish etc etc. I use the smart lock which unlocks the device when I get into a certain GPS location and also unlocks when I connect to my carkit.

Anyone else have this unlock issue? I still can't understand how the phone is swiping itself inside my pants well enough to unlock...

happened to me a few times i ended up whatsapping or pocket dialing people.
Not sure how either thought it hasn't happened so far after latest update

I decided to upgrade to lollipop and it went smoothly. using 5.0 baseband G900FXXU1BOE5 . so far no major problems. sometimes notifications stay stuck at top, I just have to hit clear.

my battery seems to last longer now if I power save. I find the OS about the sake as Kit Kat just that lollipop has a cleaner look. if you dont like bright white then you won't enjoy this OS. everything is whites and on Samsung blue. used to be dark colours so I had to get used to that.

overall working well and most o of my apps work. didn't have to reinstall them.

Been experiencing 2 main issues since the last update or two on MTN.

1) when calling a number / contact, the call often immediately fails and I then have to call again. Always works perfectly the second time.

2) when I have lots of notifications in the notification bar, after pulling down the notification drawer, some cards are blank/empty spaces. I can see all the icons still visible in the bar if the drawer is closed, but some cards just don't display.

Has anyone else found similar issues?

Eventually. The S5 is up on update list.

I'll definitely flash with an Intl firmware from SamMobile as soon as Marshmallow appears. This stock XFA Lollipop has some very irritating gremlins which I have noticed...

This F-ing phone is driving me nuts. It unlocks itself in my pocket and when I am driving and on a bluetooth call the MF manages to mute the call and disconnect bluetooth while in my pocket. I never had these issues with S4 Lollipop.

I can only think the screen is staying on too long when I answer a call and then pocket rub is causing this k@k.

I have now resorted to taking the phone out of my pocket when on an in car call and removing my carkit as a "safe place" in SMART LOCK so that the handset stays pattern locked while in my pocket in the car.

Normal back wireless or sview wireless cover?
Sview going new R800 plus for white. Black over R1k.
If I get my blue sview wireless cover from amazon (unlikely as still no stock), I'll let my normal black wireless back cover go. Have 4 wireless pads so might let one go with the cover.
