My S5 is on Vodacom. After the OTA 5.0 update a month ago, I am also experiencing that issue. Cannot forcefully replicate it, nor does it happen all the time.

Exactly, barely reproducible. Please let me know if you find a fix. Drives me nuts
 
Got a software update today Vodacom s5. What does it do? Was about 270mb
 
Anybody tried CyanogenMod 13.0, Android 6.0 Marshmallow yet.

When I tried on this day my Google Play service kept on crashing so I restored my CM12 backup. Have not had time to try again.
 
Anyone knows if downgrading from G900FXXU1BOJ1 (latest xfm build) to G900FXXU1ANE2 possible?
 
So last night I loaded the latest release of Android OS 5.0.1 for the Galaxy S5 Mini, by Vodacom. All 900MB+ worth. After the installation everything seemed to work fine until trying to open the Contact List!!!! Since last night it keeps saying "Updating Contact list..."! I have rebooted several times but it seems like ALL MY CONTACTS ARE GONE!!!!!!! I then tried to reload a backup of the Contacts from my PC but even after the reboot it still did not restore the contacts! THANK YOU SAMSUNG AND VODACOM for deleting 15 years worth of contacts and telephone numbers!!!:mad::wtf::confused::cry:

Anybody else experienced the same problems?

So many hashtags! I'm assuming it's synced with Google? Try going to contacts.google.com and login there on a PC

Nope, all my upgrades were 100%. Maybe it's Vodacrap...
 
Received a notification, downloaded and installed a 350mb security software update this morning on my stock Lollipop XFA 32gb non LTE device.

Can't see any visual changes but will see if any Lollipop bugs have been ironed out (whatsapp crashing back to homescreen as soon as I read a message / main home screen weather tile flashes the calendar from another home acreen.
