Samsung Galaxy S5

So wife's S5 came back today with a new screen, new silver bexel and new charger flap cover (all were in various stages of decay from wife and kids). Wife is very happy with her brand new phone.

The bad news, is as RAM drove off I realised I had forgotten to wipe the loan S5 I had just handed back. Tried calling the cell number that had called me to arrange delivery and pickup without success. I was distraught as the loaner did not have a pin activated on the lock screen, I have set Android Manager in the play store to wipe the device if it ever comes back online before they wipe it and send it to the next ADH job and I have changed ALL of wife's account passwords for all of her APP's.

What a stupid stupid thing for me to forget :(

Daughter came home with s5 I gave her mid March. Colours looked funny. Took out battery and now phone doesnt even start up. Only see blue light and at bottom the multitask button and return bottom lights up.

Suspect water damage?

They wipe it same time the phone is returned. I forgot to wipe the phone too but only had gmail on it and that device NEVER came back online with my details after I returned it. I suspect they wipe it after a return in case a customers personal files might still be on it. ;)

That is good to know and a small relief.

Tring to update to 6.0.1 G900F firmware but get the error of size too big invalid ext4 img

Anyone know how to get it working to update to the latest 6.0.1?

I tried 2 from sammobile but all do the same....

Are you sure you are selecting the correct options in Odin. Ie selecting to flash something other than the ROM

Yes I tried 2 already and both get the same error.

Instructions

*Extract (unzip) the firmware file
*Download Odin v3.10.7
*Extract Odin ZIP file
*Open Odin v3.10.7
*Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
*Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
*Add the firmware file to AP
*Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
*Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes

When I upgraded to 5.0 it worked fine but the 6.0.1 firmwares re giving me this error. Trying to download the smallest 6.0.1 I could find on sammobile now and see if that works. Tried googling for like 1 hour but no solution yet. If this fails I would just have to go back to 5.0

What 6.0.1 firmware worked for you?

Hi guys

I had stock Android 6 on but had trouble rooting it. Needed root, so I went back to Android 5 stock ROM. But now, when I try to flash CF Auto Root I get a bootloop. I have to reflash the ROM to be able to boot.

Any idea what I can do to rectify the issue? Do I need to reflash a bootloader? Where do I get one?

So Samsung repair agent quotes me R5200 excl. R300 assessment fee to fix water damaged s5.
I reject repair and collect it. Guess what s5 working now perfectly without R5200 repair. All it needed was a bit of drying I guess as s5 still had water in the camera lens when I took it in. What a bunch of skelms.

Are you using the USB cable that came with the phone?

Wonder WTF Marshmallow is taking so long for G900H. Zip on Sammobile :-(

Wasn't the G900H a budget 3G only version? If so, it'll probably never see MM.

3G only, yes, but it has 32GB as opposed to the 16GB the LTE model came with.

Don't see why it wouldn't get MM

Because it's pretty much a dead end niche model. How many of those do you think Samsung sold when compared to the international 900F model?
