I just saw on sammobile that India & Kazakhstan has released marshmallow for the g900h.
Is it Ok to install either of these firmwares on our local phones?

I unfortunately still don't have mine as I am on MTN

What is quite odd is that I now use a Vodacom Sim in the phone and still no firmware update

It's not about the SIM. Its about the firmware that is currently on there (XFM, XFA etc.)

Tring to update to 6.0.1 G900F firmware but get the error of size too big invalid ext4 img

Anyone know how to get it working to update to the latest 6.0.1?

I tried 2 from sammobile but all do the same....

You would need to install firmware for an unbranded version of the G900F
Something like this:

Yes I tried 2 already and both get the same error.

Instructions

*Extract (unzip) the firmware file
*Download Odin v3.10.7
*Extract Odin ZIP file
*Open Odin v3.10.7
*Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
*Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
*Add the firmware file to AP
*Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
*Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes


When I upgraded to 5.0 it worked fine but the 6.0.1 firmwares re giving me this error. Trying to download the smallest 6.0.1 I could find on sammobile now and see if that works. Tried googling for like 1 hour but no solution yet. If this fails I would just have to go back to 5.0

What 6.0.1 firmware worked for you?

Got mine on Vodacom yesterday. Updated today. Feels faster and smoother.

Anyone have any issues? I read online that there were people with wifi issues and random reboots, etc.
