Samsung Galaxy S5

It's really nice because it keeps the kids out of your phone completely. Need a pin to install anything or exit kids mode.

Edit, thanks to this post I realised I can open apps via my gear's notifications even when kids mode is on.

Ugh, I found out Vodacom pricing for the S5 on a uChoose Flexi* 350 (*replacement for the old Top Up contracts).

"SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 16GB LTE @ R659 PM (R310 + R349 Subs) on Flexi 350"

Makes me seriously reconsider wanting this phone. Really expensive and perhaps overkill for my needs!

I had the same problem. They are phasing out the old top up deals and the uchoose flexi is expensive enough to make one seriously not consider it as a viable option. Which is why I took the smart S deal, you can add a softlock to avoid any unwanted bills at the end of the month.

the Smart and red deals are about the best from Vodacom at the moment.
 
Looking at my phone, the plastic and weird faux leather would look less tacky if it didn't have the chrome beading.

Which model does FNB sell? G900H or G900F?

I see they are advertising it as a Quad Core with 32GB which does not make sense... I understood that the 32GB is the Exynos powered Octa Core.

There are both versions.
Chances are in SA you will get the quad core version.

They have already on the tablets with Jelly Bean. I have seen them on the Sony and Nexus tablets. Samsung at first stripped this feature out of 4.3 but after public outcry have added it in although not fully (no restricted profile as the others). This was done towards the end of last year but none of the Samsung tabs in SA have received this update yet. Frustrating!

I just spoke to a device "guru" at FNB and he sounds about 60% sure that they sell the G900H... Which still makes no sense as they are advertising a Quad core processor and the "H" variant runs the Octa core Exynos

I am really not dead sure but when I google for G900H 32GB quad core I get many many results and each page says it it a G900H 32GB with Quad core CPU.

Obviously the Octacores also pop in but it seems that there are quad and octa core versions of the G900H

There are also LTE versions of the G900H so I am kinda sure there will be quad and octacore versions of it.
