Samsung Galaxy S5

So just got my black S5 today from autopage. Fingerprint scanner is awesome though tricky. The sound quality is awful though. I played music with my s2 next it playing on full volume and it out performed the s5 by far. Overall I feel like my lack of excitement for this phone is justified especially coming from the S2. BTW how do i tell if i have the LTE one? My model is the SM-G900H

Should say 4G

My guess is that the difference in speed is negligible. The Snapdragon (quad core) version has way better support from the custom rom community (Cyanogenmod for instance), so if I had the choice, I would take the quad core version. I'm currently "stuck" with a Exynos Octa Core S4 without Cyanogenmod as they can't sort out the issues.

There are plenty ROMs for the Octa-core S4, but not as much as the i9505.

Cyanogenmod has been out for the Exynos variant for a while now: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9500

Doesn't on the box only HSPA+...So i guess it doesn't.

Have you checked on the actual phone when on? Where is normally says 3G it will say 4G.
I turned mine off because when people call on vodacrap it only rings your side after 4 rings as our LTE has to step it down. People may put phone down as it takes you long to answer

I'm assuming you set it to WCDMA/GSM (auto connect), but did you also change the apn? And if so what to?

I don't live in an LTE area so if it decreases general performance then switching it off will be generally wise I guess.

Mine has LTE there too before WCDMA/GSM AUTO CONNECT

That's the first option in the list, second one has it without the lte at the front. 3rd and 4th options are WCDMA or GSM only. I'd assumed you'd switched off lte by selecting the second option?

Does the s2 have group play? I find using my s5 as the left speaker and my wife's s4 as the right to be pretty cool.

Also its the waterproofing that messes with the volume.

I've also got the gold one, but got the black flip case yesterday as the gold one looked horrendous. Not the S cover, just the normal flip.

I must say, I love the look and feel so much more than when it's naked and the cases are first class quality. Quite different from the S4 style and feel too.

I must say this phone is just amazing, this has to be the best phone ever made, yes the clip at the bottom sucked and am happy it broke off.
The speed and the way this phone just works is amazing and the battery life is 100 times better than the s4

The clip at the bottom was vital for the waterproofing. The S5 is one of the top phones at the moment, but best phone ever made it is not.

Imo, all things considered, the 'best' phone on earth is the OnePlus One. Followed by the Xperia Z2 until the LG G3 is released.

Why do you think that is the best? I have never used one just curious what makes it better in your opinion?
The waterproof thing is really not a biggie for me

Played with my friends new S5, wow that launcher is awful. We switched to Nova, I use it on my Note 2, and the lag was gone.
All that R&D to speed up the phone and they slow down with all that Touchwiz bloat.

Bryn also forgot about the HTC one but out of the lot I prefer the S5 because specifications for everything that matters is similar or better. More importantly, ADH.

Lag on the S5's TouchWizz?

I doubt that.
