Samsung Galaxy S5

I have noticed that a service provider has been offering a discount on their S5 contracts if you bring in a old phone.Apple has been doing the same with the iPhone.I have been wondering what are they doing with all those phones.
 
Likewise. The premium one. So get a loaner phone if it needs to go in for long repairs - collect and deliver service, etc. Very nice.

Any advantages or just force of habit?

I'll wait a couple of days and see what's annoying me before I decide. Probably will just to get greenify going.

I did it in order to migrate app data from my S4. Not using greenify (no need for it at this stage), but I like the wanam framework.

Cool. I'm not sure Greenify is so necessary on this device anyway. I managed over 6 hours screen time yesterday and that includes setting up and downloading a fair bit on top. Quite impressive and as a nightly charger, I can't imagine a time not having enough battery to get through the day.

Lol. I'm enjoying fiddling about with everything just now and not sure what to uninstall. I'm keeping and eye on awake time through wake locks as best I can without root and will probably only root a week or two down the line. Did you root already?

I have no interest in rooting at this time.

The phone is almost perfect as is in my opinion. I may root just to kill the vodacom wallpapers and boot screen :-)
 
Are there LTE and non-LTE models out there, anyone know which one FNB are selling?

Yes. Looks like the networks with lte are selling models with or without depending on their networks capabilities. I'm sure I saw somewhere that Telkom are selling without and I'd imagine that FNB will too as they are partnered with cell c.

FNB are selling 32 GB, octo-core HSUPA model.
I have asked them to investigate selling the LTE model as well, they're looking into it.
 
Yup, just called them and they confirmed - no ETA on the LTE version either.
 
I have been playing with it but so far not all that impressed. Great idea though, perhaps the more I use the phone the more use I will find for it. With the recent apps button so easy to reach it seems a little redundant.
