Samsung Galaxy S5

Anyone else been finding that the Samsung OS is nailing the RAM. I'm running at 80% with almost no apps running

The Vodacom ROM is extremely bloated.

I remember when I was still using it, my phone would be using 1.21GB RAM right after boot.

After I installed the UK BTU ROM, it's down to 900MB.

How did you flash that BTU ROM? Root + custom recovery? Or straight flash with odin?

Which version of the BTU ROM are you using ? Any risk of tripping the Knox flag?

you aren't rooting, and flashing official samsung software... no risk at all. Get the latest UK BTU one.

it's very easy to do.

1. load odin
2. put phone into download mode
3. load rom into odin
4. flash it

no need for factory reset or anything. afterwards you can remove the vodacrap bloat that managed to survive the flash.

Thanx for the reply.
Which version of Odin should I use and did you download it from SamMobile?

I still use Odin 3, v1.85. Anything higher and you get infested with a bunch of annoying schyte which installs whether you want it or not.

v3.09 ROM straight from sammobile yes

dafuq?

Dunno bud. For some reason I've always struggled doing a quick odin download when I'm not on my own PC. I ended up with some crap called Baidu a couple of weeks ago on my works PC when I tried to do a quick flash on a mates S4. It aksed if i want to install it, I said NO, it installed anyway.

And it's not the first time it's happened with different versions. I'll stick with my old v1.85 thank you very much.
