Daughter cracked my screen. Called ADH guys at Samsung and they said they will pick it up on Monday and fix it, and they will give me a loan phone... There goes my one free repair... Don't have kids!
This ram issue is out of control
why?
Long press the button to the left of the space bar and select the microphone icon.
See previous post with screenshots this phone is lagging like fck
This is what I used to do with the S4. The S6 does not have the microphone icon. Just has ?!," etc.
I'm using the standard samsung keyboard.
Dunno whats going on
You know there are two different issues, right?
There is a general lollipop issue and there is a samsung ram management issue. The samsung ram management issue is killing apps too quickly. The general lollipop issue has to do with memory leak... not sure if this has been solved yet, but I know the Samsung isn't, which is not what you are having.
Go into setting - Language and Input and turn on Google voice typing and switch Voice input to Enhanced Google services.
This is very strange.
i dont have these options under "Language and Input".
I downloaded a "Voice to text" app from the playstore. Tried to use it and i get a note saying my device does not support speech to text. WTF.
I do a search on my device for "speech to text". I get results of just "text to speech", which is something else.
I then download the google keyboard from the playstore. I now see the microphone icon on the keyboard. I press it. It does not do anything.
Anyone with a clue of whats going on?
No worries. Sorted now.
After some more online searching I realised what happened.
When i got the phone I disabled some apps which I thought i wont use anytime soon.
One of the apps I disabled was Google Search.
Re-enabling this app brought back the mic icon on the samsung keyboard and it works fine now.
I noticed dust in between the front glass and front facing camera this morning. Non of my friends / colleagues with the S6 have this issue.
I'm assuming this would be covered by warranty?
UPDATE:
So I phoned Samsung's Smart Care Centre in Century City, and the say the front facing camera is part of the screen which is covered by ADH. They say they'll just replace the screen meaning I use my ADH cover.
Don't accept that!
ADH = accidental damage through HANDLING. Dust inside a sealed part is NOT your doing! Keep that ADH claim for when you need it.
