Samsung Galaxy S6

Does anybody know which setting will switch off the Auto Screen On?

When my screen is locked - and I hover my had above the screen - the screen illuminates. Annoying that I cant find the setting to deactivate.

Question to the guys with the Edge:

I have the S6 Flat and have an offer to swap it and R1500 for the Edge. My question is, is it worth it?
All I really need is the extra storage as I only have 1GB left
What makes it better other than the obvious?

Thanks

I don't believe it's worth it.
Really not impressed with his phone.

The S6 edge, while being probably the best looking phone out now, has some pitfalls. Yes it comes with bigger storage. Battery is minutely bigger. But from what I read about it these are the negatives:

1. When reading an internet page or any other document, it may feel like the words curve around the edges as the page fits the entire screen.
2. Similarly when viewing videos
3. Typing may be a bit tricky for some as the edge letter may go around the sides.
4. Bezels are thin so some may experience difficulty gripping the phone when picking it up.

These are just what I read. People here who actually own it can comment better.

1. I think it looks awesome
2. Never felt like it for me.
3. I don't remember the letters being on the curve. :wtf:
4. I think this a positive, makes the feel thinner than what it really is.

1. Not really an issue, its really nice being able to use the edge to scroll without covering the whole page with my hand
2. Haven't had this problem.
3. It seems to be fine, it picks up many of my touches to the edges
4. Its a non point, you should use a case for this phone. Only because the stupid camera hump screams scratching. You can get a really nice seethrough case that doesn't hinder its looks.

That being said...

Nothing, other than looks. Anything done for the edge display is mighty gimmicky, you have stuff on android that just feel like it was made for the edge screen (Read: everything that lets you swipe from the left that opens a menu of sorts). There isn't anything special about it, I prefer the edge screen, as it just seems nicer, but that's wholly an opinion. Though my main gripe with the Regular S6 is that it looks boring and, in my eyes. Should be replaced by the edge variant entirely, so samsung can properly implement the edge screen in the software. (Right now its just an after thought)

Anyone know what the "SVF" app on the S6 is for?
It used up 1% of my battery life overnight. Not much, but just asking.
Google doesn't help.

"Samsung Push Service" and "Enhanced Features" also used up 1% each.

Cool - Thanks for the responses

Guess I will hold out a bit longer until I can get it for about 1K pay in.

Ultimately I just need it for the extra space
