Samsung Galaxy S6

I question the need for a S6 plus.
The difference to the Note is mainly the stylus.
If people want a phablet without a stylus then just don't use the stylus on the Note.
Anyways, lets see how the sales go

No need for a supersized S6. Then you will have the Note 5 and the new A8 also. The new A8 is nearly as expensive as a flagship anyway. A month or so after the Note 5 appears the Note 4 might be cheaper than the A8 anyway.

Daughter cracked my screen. Called ADH guys at Samsung and they said they will pick it up on Monday and fix it, and they will give me a loan phone... There goes my one free repair :( ... Don't have kids!

Just a follow-up on this matter. Awesome service from Samsung ADH. They came as promised on Monday. They gave me a new Samsung S6 phone for a loan and they kept me updated about the repairs to my phone and yesterday they called (in my language) to say they will deliver on Monday because my phone has been repaired - even though they had told me to back up my phone data, they did not wipe it clean as there was no need since they were just fixing the screen and they also checked it for other possible defects resulting from the blunt force trauma to the screen and they found none. And I will pay R0 for all this as long as I return their phone in good condition. Soon I will have my Samsung S6 Edge back! Looking like new.

Now this is what I call great service. A lot of companies can learn from this - life is hard enough without having to deal with bad service and companies ripping you off!

Excellent

I noticed dust in between the front glass and front facing camera this morning. Non of my friends / colleagues with the S6 have this issue.

I'm assuming this would be covered by warranty?

An update on this story:

Took my phone to Samsung's Smart Care Centre in century city at 13h30 - showed them the issue, booked the phone in. 2hrs later I get a call saying your phone is ready for collection.

The repair is under normal warranty - does not affect ADH. They say the front panel wasn't sealed properly in the factory, but they cleaned and sealed the front panel perfectly.

Absolutely stunned by their efficiency, friendliness and professionalism in getting the job done. :)

Nothing beats Samsung's after sale service.

Anyone knows whether I can replace one of the 2 lock screen functions.
Currently lock screen comes standard with the call function and camera function.
I want to replace it with maybe a whatsapp chat. Is this possible?
Or can I add new lock screen buttons?

My phone is horribly laggish since the upgrade and very unresponsive.
Hey! I've been using the irish/UK unbloated 5.1.1 rom and I too have found that my battery life has been worse than before (only get like 3-3.5 hours SoT) and the phone has been laggy a lot of times. Android OS seems to drain a lot as well now. I used to have the 5.0.2 Vodacom.

Have you maybe found a solution with your phone? I was thinking maybe of flashing the 5.1.1 rom from SA - XFE?

Don't you only get 1 repair with the ADH warranty?

As for the laggy phone - I'm still using the ROM that came with the phone - it does slow down from time to time, but a reboot sorts that out (and the s6 reboots mighty quickly). Glad I haven't done any upgrades yet.

I do wish there was a nice stable CM12 version that I could flash - would do that in a heart beat... CyanogenMod

Is it possible for you guys to flash back to the original 5.0.2 the phone came with?

You can't downgrade from 5.1.1 to 5.0.2. The bootloader in 5.1.1 is locked and prevents you from downgrading. You'll softbrick your device.

Unfortunately this.
Best bet now is to wait for android m. I've managed to keep my phone fast by clearing the cache weekly (Using ccleaner), with a hard rest.
Wouldn't say its horribly laggy, in fact it works well.

5.1.1 is running just fine on my S6, not sure what you lot are on about
