I'm not very happy with my phone's battery life these past 2 or 3 days.

Screen brightness on 65%.

How is Weta?

Similar to XtreStoLite, just with hardware audio enhancements and Dolby Atmos. Lots of EQ settings. It's geared toward audiophiles. I ended up disabling all the enhancements though.

Ahh, I bought the curve soundbar from Samsung so don't use my phone for audio, funny thing this phone has better audio than my 23K laptop

It will do. The S6 uses the renowned Wolfson DAC. Much better than that Realtek cr@p in most consumer PC's.

Sucks Penis, cause everything of that laptop is out of this world

There's a reason most flagships cost a fortune. Besides the obvious specs, they actually pump decent audio hardware too. The S6 also uses DDR4 RAM along with UFS NAND - nevermind the camera. Lots of little 'by the ways' which set it apart from lets say a Huawei conterpart.

There aren't many phones that can compete to the S6, even now almost a year later. Luckily you've discovered custom ROMs now which take optimisation to the next level.

Welcome to the dark side Thor.

Ain't nothing wrong with that laptop. It's a beast. Win 10 with that SSD and you're sorted. ;)

Boots up into Windows in less than 5 seconds.

It's a life changer.

I want to install a decent Linux distro to dual boot because I want to sharpen my command line skills

Enjoy! You got yourself a beast of a machine. Keep the Windows partition for a game or two.

To anybody with an S6 with bad battery life, I figured it was worth sharing my experience.

TLDR version: If you're having battery issues, take your phone into your contract service provider to get it checked out.

I got my S6 on a Vodacom contact, and was never too happy with its battery life (just like the rest of the world). After about six months I noticed that the phone started heating up quite severely while playing games or charging, and would discharge rapidly ... it wasn't even getting me through eight hours of work before dying.

The last day that happened I decided enough was enough, and walked into Vodacom Canal Walk and explained the issues. They booked it in to be analyzed, and warned me that it'd take a week to repair. Amazingly they phoned me the very next day and said the phone was ready for collection ... they'd replaced the motherboard on it!

In reality I have no clue what they did, except it definitely was my phone (IMEI was the same and body scuffs exactly the same), and the battery issue was resolved 90% of the way to acceptable. The phone no longer heats up during casual gameplay, and my phone easily gets me through a whole day (and uses practically no battery while not being used).

Bottom line ... if you're unhappy, get it checked out if you can :) Props to Vodacom for the best cellphone service experience I've ever had (previously I've been with MTN - not quite as good lol).
