I would rather have ishtty network then deal with vodacom again in my life.

Going into year 5 now with CellC and they keep me happy and without R1000+ oob shark invoices.

Everywhere I go it's a miracle if you get 3g almost always on edge and speeds are absolute ****e
Waiting for telkom deals then I'm off like a Jewish foreskin

They seem to get it right every single time in the Note series, and apparently the A series phones are also going the right direction in battery capapcity, the A5 got a 74h Endurance score on GSMArena.

I am a fan of Samsung products as I feel they kept Android on the map and proved how powerful of an OS it is with their products, they seemed to set the benchmark every year but the S6 I'm afraid may not do that, the American tech sites are going to tare this phone apart for 1. looking like a iPhone6, 2. Removing features that the iPhone didn't have, 3. Poor battery life. Phones like the LG G2, Note 3, S5, Xperia Z3, iPhone 6 Plus, Note 4 etc...have set quite a high standard in battery life, the S6 will be a shocker, even being beaten by the Nexus 6, and generally Nexus phones show very average to below average battery life.

Any bets the S6 outsells the S5 by a considerable margin? My money's on it. S5 was a weak refresh, S6 seems to be all new with again 'considerable' trade offs but let's face facts , aesthetics are more important than we imagine (think iPhone) especially to the general consumer. I reckon they have a winner on their hands, who cares if it has to be charged once a day. My 2c for what it's worth.

Definitely. Pre orders have already broken all previous records.

Don't agree....metal is not all it's cracked up to be when used in an RF device. Metal attenuates RF (signal), so you can expect sub-par signal to/from the tower. A metal body also usually calls for a non-removable battery (fail).

I prefer to go with a plastic body - this way I KNOW for sure there will be zero RF ATTENUATION, which translates into dropped calls etc etc. It is an ongoing issue with RF Engineers - trying to design a phone, that has a built-in antenna, to overcome the basics fundamentals of RF.....metal is a conductive surface, reflecting RF......put enough metal around a phone and it becomes a faraday cage (no RF gets out)

Besides...most of us use a phone case, which means you won't be able to see your shiny metal phone....

For me....I will give the S6 a miss and upgrade my Note 3 to a Note 4...

I really don't know what all the fuss is about a phone having a non removable battery. I've got a Moto X with a non removable battery and it has not been a problem. Maybe Samsung's freezing is the issue. My phone has never frozen so I suppose that is why it's not an issue.

I don't think it's the non removable part, rather it's the performance being a tad under par. Or more accurately, the performance being lower than expected.

I am also due for an upgrade this month and was looking forward to the S6, but with the battery life i'm bummed out.
But after doing some research the S6 ACTIVE is looking really good it has 3500mAh battery and waterproof. That is the S6 i wanted.

Only part i'm worried about is the price and when it will be released here and what the contract prices will be? will it be also subsidized with the contract?

Preorder prices for the edge from Incredible are a little scary. R15 999 for the 64gb.

I'm a sad panda at the moment...

My upgrade is only due 10 May. Trying to get an early upgrade, but apparently I don't qualify. Seems that 5 contracts for a total of almost 3k a months is just not enough for them :(

Think of how the stock situation will have normalized by 10 May :)

That's insane. Normally you can upgrade in month 21 or 22
