Unless you keep sharp objects in your pocket - why use a screen protector?

Precaution. When I'm in a hurry I might chuck my keys into the same pocket for example. Heard of cases where sand would scratch it as well.

The Samsung plastic protectors feels great. Considering changing my case so that I can use one of those instead.

Thanks. Seems a bit pricey for plastic screen protectors. I payed R130 for 2x Samsung ones which should work with Samsung cases.

Nothing new really. The Note series is normally the S-series with a S Pen.

This time though the camera is a huge step next. Optical zoom and Portrait mode.

I made the mistake of buying a glass screen protector for my phone at an accessory shop at my local mall (shop called Celsx or Celxs) over the weekend

They promised me that it is a good quality product and that it will work with my case. They fitted it for me in store. It works with my case but it made my touch screen response terrible! It often causes missed touches.

I went back to complain, they told me its just me and that perhaps I'm not touching hard enough

I suspect that it is so bad because it only has glue around the outer edges. School fees.

Yeah. I'm OCD about having a scratched screen. Heard of to many "gorilla glass" screens being scratched. The film/plastic one from Samsung was great. It just did not work with my case. :/

Guess Ill have to fork out R300 for a Spigen one.

I also "heard" about these scratched screens... yet to experience it myself.

If your daily routine keeps you in an office mostly I can agree that you might get away without a screen protector.

For people in the construction industry, surveyors or manufacturing it is a different story. I also don't like screen protectors but had to learn to live with them over the years since my S2.

That is why I don't like these curved screens. It is a shlep to get a screen protector to stay put.

Did anyone receive the Bixby voice functionality yet on their S8. As I heard Bixby voice is live in South Africa and other countries, but it still does not work on my phone and I did receive all the updates on Sunday.
