South African, live in the UK. I guess for me it's always been like insurance. It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Having said that the one I bought tore while I was smoothing it out, so will need to shop around for a new one.

Hardware/screen-wise the phone is amazing! Getting used to the curved edges on the side slowly, but my only gripe is the fingerprint reader - or rather it's rather pointless placement. I've had the S6 for 2 years and have grown used to just holding down the home button for a split second to get into the phone. The iris function works but I find it's pretty useless in the dark (trying to unlock the phone first thing this morning to read a message when I woke up took some doing) and also bright light. I've set up a PIN until I can figure something else out.

Why don't you just use Smartlock?

I don't think you understood his answer.

He doesn't say "it's not possible", he says "there is no specific csc that guarantees to be first"

Edit: but i read the thread now. His previous answers are more relevant to the questions of "can't"

Thanks for the heads up. I was wandering when this was coming as we last got security update in August
 
Really have to hand it to Vodacom this time, every month we get a update with some stability fixes and the monthly security patch.
 
How does the whole carrier uodates work? Does the network provider who's SIM is in the phone push updates, or the one you bought it from?

updates gets pushed from vodacom.

google releases android version, samsung gets it's hands on it, pushes it out to vodacomSA, pushing out to your phone.

Cool thanks. What happens for example when you buy the phone from MTN and use a Vodacom SIM?
