I'm also not keen to update my s8 to pie for this reason. It seems that Huawei still allows recording in pie for now (touch wood).

I've seen screenshots of the Pie update for the S8 that has native call recording, it could be as easy as just installing another firmware from a country that has it if we don't and everything you mentioned will still work.
 
Won't update to Pie either. Not interested in it. I do not need a nice looking OS. I need a fully functional smartphone. Call recording is much more important to me. In addition, there is a host of other smaller features, apps and functions that would also no longer be working on Pie.
 
Has anyone been able to make their Samsung Pay work...my phone is currently on Xfe/Xfe/Xfa
....

Its driving me nuts...as I know it has something to do with my Csc....but it's a multi oxm csc so I'm unable to change it.

Mine is working fine... Im on XFA
 
Can you please check you software version....I'm sure you on xfa/xfa/xfa... my csc is making my Samsung pay invalid

Firstly,
Your device CSC, is presently XFE/XFE/XFA.
Note the 3rd CSC code, is hardcore and cannot be changed (non root methods)
Where XFA is, then hardcore.
You must have flashed Samsung unbranded XFE firmware to
get to XFE/XFE/XFA.?
To get back to XFA/XFA/XFA
you have to flash correct MTN XFA firmware with MTN sim
Then your CSC should be aligned.

I was previously on XFE/XFE/XFV
My device is a Note 9, Vodacom.
I had to flash Vodacom firmware
and as soon as i placed my
Vodacom sim in device it
did a full factory reset and i was back on XFV/XFV/XFV.

While i was on XFE /XFE/XFV
I had issues with no Samsung Pay.
As soon as i was back on XFV
Samsung Pay work again.
I found that your Service Provider sim does play a part, if pay works etc.
However not to sure about XFA (MTN) but i have seen post of members stating whilst on XFE/XFE/XFA Samsung Pay worked.

I actually resolved the matter by flashing the S9+ combination rom, then using realterm to change my CSC, then flashed the most recent XFA rom with my Telekom sim in and everything is resolved. MTN sim was giving me XFE...not XFA, and Telkom roams on MTN so my CsC would never change.
 
Is there a way in which a person can change the CSC version from XFV to either XFE or XFA, even if it requires rooting the device?
My S8+ was affirmatively shopped last year, and I got the S9+ on a Vodacom upgrade, but am using a CellC contract sim.
Issues I have is that WiFi Calling is not allowed and the dual sim functionality does not work.

I would like to "change" the phone from a Vodacom locked device to either CellC or Telkom unlocked device, in order to make use of the WiFi Calling as well as dual sim functionality.
