I loaded 7Gb of music video's on the flash card yesterday. what a pleasure!! my own mini media center. really glad it reads flv files:cool: pity it does not read avi's though :(

got the garmin navigator working - so much better than the route66 crap on my nokia6110.

still battling to get the compass to work?? any ideas??

I guess not but they included it in the retail boxes in other parts of the world... anyway...

My phone seems to play AVI files? :confused:

Garmin is the best!

:confused: mine says "audio & video not supported" when I try and play avi's!! did u activate anything? perhaps I missed a setting or something?

R u using "real player" or the "video player" ?

Hi Spiff,

I didn't do anything. The video's are AVI's on the PC, then when I put them onto the phone they are picked up as Video/DivX format when I view the details.

The only video that hasn't played on mine was Windows Media Format.
I was reading something in the full manual about needing to activate something in the DivX, maybe I've done that without realising it... I'll have a look over the weekend and will let you know if I come up with anything.

And I'm just playing it straight from the gallery.

yes I recall something about registering DIVX, I by passed this cause u never know if there are charges involved. don't want an unexpected high bill :eek: and seen that mtn r CLUELESS about setting up this phone, guess we have to plod along ourselves:(

U can only select 1 video at a time and when that is finished u have to go back and select another 1 to play. so u cannot "mark all" and play them all 1 after the other :(. Also I see it will not auto rotate the video even if it is switched on in the main settings:( U have to select options - rotate display everytime to get it in landscape & full screen for each new video u select:( One way around this is to join all my flv videos into 1 big flv file! so if u know of a way then please let me know:cool:

lets hope them improve this with a firmware upgrade!

I don't think there are charges involved from the way it is explained in the manual, I'm also going to try it over the weekend so we'll see...

Is it only your flv vids you're having a problem with? Cos my normal video's all rotate by themselves, although I also have to go out and select the next video when one is finished.

Yes at the moment they r the problem. I had my bond007avi loaded and it would not play. ok my southpark video's r all divx and that works very well. they start in landscape & full screen straight away. brilliant quality!!

I'm going to download the full manual and see if there is anything I missed.

I'm also going to go over the full manual, already downloaded it.
My AVI's are playing though, not sure what I did but they are playing...

Quick query ........did anyone else get the 16gig phone ? cos mine even with out the mem card reads as 16gig :-)
 
all i8910's in sa are gonna be 16gig versions. maybe soon we'll get the 8gig one.

ps come on guys... why isn't anyone reviewing the phone... its interface and stuff?
 
Bought a new 8 gig on ebay. It arrived today and I can pick it up on Monday. Was tyred of waiting for the service providers to release the phone.

The Samsung Blog (www.samsungblog.co.za) approached me to do a review for them, they will be publishing it on their site this week so I'll post a link to it on this forum as soon as it's up.. hope you all enjoy it :)
