Samsung One Ui 7.0

This is a stupid UI update. It burns through my battery faster then I go through my paycheck.

sad to hear that the battery drain issue is affecting you ...... its a bit of a hit and miss thing - i still get almost the same screen on time as before and my battery lasts approximately 36 to 40 hours under light usage But it does drain a lot quicker if i use my Dex monitor without the power bank or if i use Youtube a lot - and another battery killer is leaving Bluetooth on especially if you are not using it

there are some youtube videos that give you tips on how to preserve the battery life a bit ie switch of stuff that scans even when Wi-Fi is off because its constantly scanning but these videos give you general battery saving tips mostly and Samsung have not a got a patch or update for the draining issue

Looks ugly though. That UI 7.

just curious - are you saying that the general interface looks ugly or which bit do you think looks bad - if you get Good lock and if you use the AI wallpapers then IMHO you can go a long way to make it all look pretty much better than it looks stock standard but it will tale a bit of effort and work and i know many people who are not bothered to do any of that and just stick to the stock stuff 🤷‍♂️ HOWEVER almost any brand of phone you use will need some work to make it look nice .... maybe Apple is easier to make it look nice though but i haven't played around enough with Apple to see if i can get an interface that i would be satisfied with but i can easily get an interface that i'm happy with using most android phones ..... maybe you need a different theme or launcher that will make you happier

as i said though many are able to get a decent mix of form and function out of using tools like the AI and Good Lock in these newer Samsung phones

I'm still waiting 😞 A34

Europe got the A34 update a couple of days back ..... SA is two to two and a half weeks behind all those regions so the A34 should get it before this month ends

Yet a Xiaomi at the same price is twice the performance?

Nah, I just followed the excellent advice on this forum who all said it is great bang for buck compared to Xiaomi.

I should have gotten a second hand iPhone like @Smiggles :p

nah they were all saying it wrong - its great bang for the buck compared to other Samsungs :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

The icons and the clock for the different timezones, the weather widget, etc look ugly. I have my own wallpaper and I tried Goodlock but it didn't make the UI elements I found to be more bland, better.

It looked nice on the previous One UI.

Function seems the same as before. Just the minimalist aesthetic looks ugly, to me.

okay - i can't really argue with any of that  but in the same breath i like some of the new design elements like the vertical app drawer and split notifications and quick settings, some of the new desktop icons and also being able to stack widgets of the same sizes if you want to

but yeah i also wish they would give us more choice in things like that schitty battery icon and things like that - maybe if we ask nicely they might change these or maybe they are waiting for us to moan a bit more

If you like it, good for you. For me it's just a phone. It's not some thing of importance.

Yup pretty much, it's a phone. It does what I need to do, sometimes the ui changes, I adapt.

cool but as a tech guy - if i use something electronic which is vaguely or solely tech related everyday then i want to worry about the inner workings of it - and i know that it won't interest many others who aren't really tech-heads in other professions for example Doctors, Lawyers or accountants and engineers (just examples) who just need their phones to make calls and messages and also receive calls and messages and possibly get or send an E-mail or two

don't get me wrong ...... i don't love the thing - it has many things wrong with it and Samsung are making many mistakes but they do get some things right too and i was just giving them some credit for that but as i said i cant argue with most of the things you dislike

We're talking about the UI skin tho and not the innards.

just had a look at the changelog for One UI8.0 - looks like not much being added on - mostly just some minor refinements here and there and i reckon most users wont even know there's been an update after this one is already embedded into their phone - there are a few small changes to Dex which i'm not a fan of since IMHO it takes Dex a step backward instead of driving it forward to make it more useful

i think that the lack of serious activity in this update is the reason why Samsung is considering to forego its usual One UIX.1 update and are jumping to a One UIX.5 update next

Someone told me the call recording is being deleted with the latest update this week, anyone confirm this?

Edit:- So I did the latest update and call recording still there.

No idea, but I've found if you turn on screen recording during a call, the call is recorded as well.

Why would they Finally give us call recording Only to take it away?
