so the Samsung S24 series is supposed to officially start getting One UI 7.0 from today onward and my phone (S24FE) is slated to get it from the 10th onward with older phones receiving it in a staggered timetable BUT this is obviously region dependent however it would be interesting to see when everyone starts getting this ..... so would appreciate a headsup if you guys with the previous flagships give us a notification as to when you guys receive the OTA update

you will see it on the S22 23 24 threads

okay - i'm not so sure how legit Gizmochina is as a source of accurate news BUT this is what they were saying about the global rollout ..... and if its true i don't think that SA Samsung users will wait very long - ie not months long but maybe just a couple of weeks since we get the security updates maybe 2 weeks behind everyone else so i'm hoping that they will stick to a similar timeframe for these bigger updates but Samsung promised that South Africa would be in the first batch on the 7th April while even the US was on the later batch for 10th of April

Good luck will probably come later this year just in time for OneUI 8. Crazy they still can't fix this after 15 years.

according to what I read, will get an update for my S21 FE in May this year,
price of staying on official Samsung firmware,

if I was on my Hacked and rooted versions, would get it about once a month, or faster if you willing to sit on the nightly pipeline

the good old days of cyanogenmod :)

i think that that time has passed now with the long term support from manufacturers... its slow, yes, but stable.

maybe for budget devices ? but i wouldnt know

dont stress about it...

its not like the updates now bring crazy changes... just tweaks here and there

one UI7 has over 85 differences from One UI6.1 ..... and once you have One UI7 and as soon as you region gets it you can install "Good lock" which allows more customization to differentiate your phone from the herd ..... and you do want to differentiate it because too many times in public when you hear a Samsung standard ringtone or message beep you see at least 30 to 40 people checking to see if it was theirs 🤷‍♂️:ROFL::ROFL:

i heard about the good lock thing... thats lekker that it wont be region blocked

but tbh, of those 85 differences... you probably wont notice much in your day to days...

most of us are walking around with a laptops worth of processing power that we mostly use to watch videos and whatsapp call with funny face filters... go figure.

I used to want the latest asap, but now.... meh...

actually other phone brands like Xiaomi and Oppo and the Google pixels are already on beta 3 of Android 16 which means that Samsung should already be on some kind of Beta of One UI8 but only a very small percentage of the world has seen Android 15 (One UI7) on a Samsung phone - this is not a good look Samsung - and on this evidence my next phone wont be a Samsung (BUT it wont be an iphone either - because mostly same **** different company ..... for example look at the schitshow that is Apple Intelligence)

I don't think it's the Update delay that pmo it's the lack of communication. Like how is it so hard to say what's up on a official channel? It genuinely infuriates me

After six beta releases and more time in the oven than expected, Samsung has stopped the One UI 7.0 rollout globally.

Samsung tipster @UniverseIce reported on Twitter that a “serious bug was found” in the update for Korean S24 series devices. This has led to the “suspension” of the One UI 7 rollout in all countries, including China. This comes just a few days after the initial rollout of the Android 15 update for Samsung phones.
Lol what a cockup.

Yup, I mean if you even go back to an older Android on say 10 the experience won't be different. Android updates aren't as impressive anymore really.
Still get the security patches and app updates so who cares.

Does it really make that much of a difference?
It's not like any core apps or security patches are effected. So what if you get one ui7 or they go to 8 in a few months.
