If you are using it with your PC there will be no problem, if you have a 1080p source like a PS3/XBOX/bluray player etc. it will stretch the image to fit. The distortion is hardly noticeable though, if you didn't know it was happening you probably wouldn't see the difference.
It's a very good monitor, for R2 400 you can't really do better.

I thought it was too big at first, but you actually get use to the size.. now im beginning to think it's too small

All wide screen monitors and televisions suffer a factory fault whereby it shrinks after a while. i.e.: The user always needs a bigger one
Buy the damn thing, you wont regret it. Total no brainer.
Yes I know, you asked for alternatives too, so I suggested the IC special, was just highlighting the differences with the resolutions.

Buy it. You get used to the size and after a while it actually becomes normal. Its a shock going to work everyday to work on a CRT 21" Monitor.

Or I can get a T240 for slightly cheaper. I am only considering it over the T260 as 26" really is too big for my space. Plus I am still gonna use my 19" as a second display so the real estate will be fine.

Eish. The T260 is not 26" wide, it is only 25.5" wide, which is only 1.5" bigger than a T240. Does that help?
