Sansung P2770H backlight bleed!?

There is a slight, barely noticable bleed in the bottom right hand corner, but nowhere near as bad as yours.

Little too dark to see on this monitor, I can't see any, I'll take a look later on my personal pc..

Ye hooked my 2333SW back up, almost 0 discernable bleed! This time I was looking for it too, ..def. keeping it then, was going to sell it to recoup some cash, ..but if the second 27" turns out to be similar to the first, I'm going to bust a nut, wonder if THEN I can get my money back?

Tryin' me best, hopefully Take2's couriers will collect today, don't know what the turn around will then be. But certainly this sucks the big 1.. :/

The only ones I am finally happy with are my P2440H's.

It is common. Even my 40" LCD TV has bleed, had it swopped as it was insanely bad, but even this new one has bleed on the right.

Well I think they need to sort out their friggin quality control, cos my cheaper, older screen is totally fine. Saves everybody time and money.

Adjustments

Have you played around with the adjustments ?

Try setting the "MagicBright" to "Dynamic Contrast"

Seemed to make my one go nice and black

Maybe there are other things that you can tweak as well ?

Might not be physical quality control but the default firmware settings ?

In my experience that makes the colours terribly inaccurate. Way too much contrast and even more washed out colours (typical of cheap TN LCD panels).
 
What contrast / brightness settings are you running? That screen looks as if it is on max!!! What brightness feed is it getting from the computer? What are the settings on the GPU?

Doubt it. Doubt any tweaking or troubleshooting will help. Some LCDs just have serious back-light bleed, and I'm certain this is a case of that. It's covered by Samsung warranty. :)

Sure but it will have to be checked. Take it to CRT for replacement if you've checked.... Boosted brightness settings on GPU and then boosted brightness settings on the device will give you this kind of effect as well... Just mentioning it...

But the brightness should be uniform surely, not excessively excessive at the edges?

Yes CRT has been mentioned a few times but Take2 are collecting so I guess they'll do that bit.

Settings on P2770H were:

Brightness: 80
Contrast: 70
Sharpness:60

..Settings on my 2333SW:
Brightness: 85
Contrast: 85

Take2 couriers picked up yesterday afternoon. Now to wait and see.
 
Now that i know what it is, i noticed that my P2770H has it, but not too badly and it is only at the bottom of my screen.
 
Here are two pictures of my B2330. They were taken with different camera settings and the actual bleed is something in between what you see in these two pictures.

What do you think - Will I be able to get it fixed or replaced?

Yours isn't as bad... But what the heck is that bleeding that appears to be in the middle of the screen? :confused: :eek:

No, that's just the camera, there's no bleeding around the arrow, it just appears that way in the picture. I still think I'm going to take mine to CRT. I know it's not as bad as some of the other, but it still irritates me quite a lot.

No harm trying, I don't think you'll have much luck though if it is as you say - half way between both pics.

Compare to dude's... Now that's excessive!
 
BenQ G2410HD.

Most LCDs have bleed along the bottom.

Yours seems on par with mine.

Doubt you'd have any luck.

Hmm in-between you say, ..that's a toughie, ..tbh it would bug the hell out of me. I'm going to stick by my point that I think they should have better quality control. I think it's unacceptable that they let them through, what's with the lottery anyway, sounds like bad business (or good business profit-wise ;) )
