I have the same screen, but i dont notice funny things, what exactly is black light bleed? is there a picture that can demonstrate this problem so that i can see if i have it?

Post pics for everyone to compare. I can notice excessive back-light bleeding any time.

Straight to CRT, awesome place.

I'll post a picture tonight. Just to make sure - they can't really fix back-light bleeding. So they need to replace the monitor if it qualifies as excessive, right?

Not sure, they decide whether to fix or replace. :)

Ok this is the best I could do with my 5800 phone camera, it gives you an idea of what's goin on. Image looks rather benign on my work pc screen here.. So I don't know what it's appearing like on y'alls's..
Is this normal? Am I better off going for the BX2450 then?
Like I said, in a movie or game it just frames everything..

Even if just the top bleed was less I'd be fine with it, but it's the most chronic.

lol shame dude, that looks like my acer al1916w 16:10 19" I got from iCorrupt years ago. Although the white bars are wider and therefore don't stick out as much, it still makes watching movies and esp 16:9 content not as enjoyable.

So what do you guys reckon, do I ask for a replacement or go with a different model monitor?

Anyone with the same screen have an opinion?

hmm. i see what you mean now. i will check when i get home. i havent really noticed it. is only when it is totally black or do you notice it playing any video or game?

edit: why does the screen do that?

I say we all get together, and do something about quality control.
Because it seems half the people get *lucky*, and half don't.

Thanks. Really need to know whether to ask for a replacement of the same model or not..

Yep it looks like that during games and movies. :/

Return it to CRT. Your bleeding is excessively bad. That screen has haemophilia!

Glad to get a consensus on the matter, at least I can refer them to this thread if they doubt me.

Waiting on a reply from Take2.

Ouch, no that is excessive! I don't even notice any bleed on my P2770h. It really is a nice monitor. I would say get it swapped for another 27". Most of the reviews I've read about the BX2450 complained about the over zealous back-lighting on those LED business monitors.

I have a P2770H and my screen runs smoothly from day 1 (about 2months now).

Howdy,

I just received my Samsung P2770H monitor from Take2, and man is the backlight bleed bad!!
The problem is highly noticeable and distracting on the left and right and worst on the top edge, and it's not just a fine line of glow. Anything with black to represent and it just sticks out right in your face. I can't watch movies or game like this.

My 2333SW in comparison has nothing remotely similar, good thing I haven't sold it yet.

Anybody have similar problems?.. I'm trying to get a reply from them on how to go about getting a replacement or different model (BX2450?) atm..

I've tried calibrating the settings, but to no avail.

Thanks for the input guys.

Alright, I'll give ol' Sammy 27 another chance, and hope I don't regret it!

Take2 should be picking up probably tomorrow.

I took a pic of mine last night for comparison. Dark room displaying black on the monitor.

There is a slight, barely noticable bleed in the bottom right hand corner, but nowhere near as bad as yours.

I have had about 7 Samsung monitors and all have had a certain level of bleed. Some worse than others. In fact my worst ones were in fact the 2330SW's.

The only ones I am finally happy with are my P2440H's.

It is common. Even my 40" LCD TV has bleed, had it swopped as it was insanely bad, but even this new one has bleed on the right.

Looks fine! :)

Indeed. Almost every LCD will have back-light bleed, most to a lesser extent than others. One of the weaknesses of the technology.

Jeez, I hope my IPS LCD doesn't bleed badly.

Did you see the pics of my first 40"?

There was blood dripping on my carpet with that one :wtf: :p
