True. It's only a R100 more from the links that I posted for the BC-900 although if you look at the rating on amazon there were a hell of a lot of people who had issues with overheating of their units. Thats the only bit that has me a bit worried.

I've researched this quite extensively and it appears La Crosse resolved this about a year ago.

LOL - have just done exactly the same - except for me it's 8AA and 8AAA.

edit: there's been a few odd things happening. firstly, i noticed that the price on the charger went up by R2 just after i placed my order. and secondly, although stock has been confirmed on all my items at sybaritic, the order hasn't changed to "awaiting payment". weird...

heh heh! - seems my battery order is ahead of yours - my order at sybaritic is now "confirmed: order placed"

Did you notice the same charger originating from their UK supplier is R400 more!!

yep, when i asked about chargers initially in this thread, one of the replies linked to the uk store with the R900 charger and i just lost interest. fortunately though i returned and saw the cheaper us one, so ordered that.

i suppose you do get it sooner (12-19 working days as opposed to 15-25), i'm just not sure if that's worth 400 bucks. or rather, double the price :eek:.

eneloops arrived this morning. what are the odds of the charger arriving (much) earlier than the take2 estimate, i wonder?
 
Got my eneloops from post office just now.

OMG Post Office. The water was leaking out of the package. Looks like they just left the parcel in the rain!!!!
 
why didnt u use a courier?
mine arrived after 2 days last week sometime, and it was cheaper than the post office option

Courier to me would be more than R100. Then I wouldn't be saving by buying it there.

I will see. Maybe they will work. Well Hope they work otherwise I will have to order again. Sigh. Post Office is useless.

They are working. I just think they won't last. But they are working even after being soaked in water by out beloved SAPO.
