Hi ,I submitted my docs via efiling on the 18 jul 17,was selected for audit ,received an IT34 today which advised that the assessment has been concluded,SOA now shows revised amount but no dates of payout. Are there other notifications which I should wait on to know when I'm getting paid?
Sorry but I'm new to this,so don't really understand much of it.

There's nothing else to do, if you got a new assessment after your audit. Then you just wait. Takes a few weeks to get the refund.

You need to go into SARS

I see that rules regarding claiming expenses for a 'home office' have changed. I've trawled through the SARS site and a couple of advisory sites but cannot find a similar example to this:

In the event that sole income is derived online (data/document services, not sale of goods), not commission based but paid purely on throughput, in a freelance capacity, can one claim 'home office' expenses or not?

Edit: or is income then regarded as 'commission' based for tax purposes?

Question about ITR12 2017: I entered my info on ITR12 e-filing and filed it (Nr-1).
They issued me a negative amount which seems to high that I must receive from them.
I then read on internet and realised I entered the medical aid monthly subrtactions incorrectly=Amount to high.

I then request a correction, and was issued with anotherITR12/ IT34 (Nr-2).
I then corect the medical aid info, and filed it.
They then issue me with a positive amount in red(which means I must pay).

I would like to know if the 2nd filing(+) is now subtracted by them form the 1st one(-), and the difference(-) would be the amount I must receive back from them. This amount is more or less the amount I expect to receive back out of previous experience.

Is this assumption correct, or must I just pay in the + amount-?

They will take the + amount and subtract it from the - amount and pay you the difference.

When you receive a mail or sms to say they are finished with everything you can click on "request historic something" and then select request statement of account you should be able to see there what the end result will be.

Otherwise, take a calculator and work it out manually.

You could also click on view calculation and see what amount it shows you.

Must say I am confused now:

I just received an SMS they payed that -Rxxxxx,xx amount I thought was too much into my bank account, and ballance confirms it.
With the 2nd correction filed I thought this will not happen-?

I logged in and under payments="No outstanding payments"

Under Notice search:
Request IT statement of account="No records available for your selection"

Note: I saw on internet that taxpayers get a warning if the submitted data from the medical scheme does not match the data you entred, if I understood this right. I never got such a warning the 1st or 2nd times-?

Picked up this note from Facebook:
TAX SEASON 2017 -
It is important for taxpayers expecting a refund to note that SARS has this year implemented additional risk processes to ensure both the legitimacy and accuracy of the refunds paid. SARS has an obligation to both taxpayers as well as to the fiscus to ensure that fraudulent and invalid claims are stopped.
We are aware that taxpayers have an expectation that once they submit a return which results in a refund that this would be paid to them shortly thereafter. It must though be noted that such refunds can only be paid once all SARS processes have been concluded. SARS is committed to ensure that legitimate refunds are paid as soon as possible.

Hey guys i initially filed and then relised that I made a mistake but i had no option to do a correction so i had to send a dispute. Its been 2 weeks later and now when i log on i see that they are refunding me the initial assessment (which reflects a lower amount due to my mistake) so my question is will i get the balance once the dispute is concluded because i though that i will not get paid anything until the dispute is completed

Yes they'll pay you the rest after the dispute is resolved.
