SARS E-Filing 2018

I called the call centre again this morning. Apparently escalations don't have a timeframe around them and they're handled on a "first come, first served" basis. So you just have to wait. That's it.

So not actually worth wasting the time and effort.

I am waiting for 1.5 months for the verification, still no feedback on complaints or escalations. The contact centre said they would give me a call as soon as there's any update. What else to do but wait

Have you escalated it? I am thinking of going to Sars tomorrow morning

Ok so finally got a reply this morning.

The IRP5 declared is only for a period. Provide the IRP5 certificates for the missing periods or an affidavit to confirm periods of unemployment or other reason.

Anyone know what this means?

and then I forgot to attach a donation certificate for the NSRI for R100, I actually remembered this after I uploaded my initial docs but there isn’t a secondary option.

Your IRP5 doesn't have 12 months on it.

how long are you with your current employer that means the IRP5 submitted is shorter than the 12 month period under review is it possible you should have two irp5s

Okay got an SMS from FNB. Sars deposited the money. Wasn't a vast amount but still thought they'd want me to come in with change of bank.

So i esculated my case today, filed the 13th, sent supporting docs through same day without any progress.. was also told that there is no turn around time on esculations but will be resolved as soon as possible.. what ever that means to SARS..

Typo.. Escalations..

Also still waiting, no movement. Filed on the 10th.

Did you submit your supporting docs on the same day as they count 21 days from the day they received your last supporting docs, they told me I can only escalate tomorrow as they have until midnight to finalise my return, and then escalations have no turn around time so not sure how that helps.

They also told me any verifications outstanding for longer than 21 working days gets escalated automatically, so I dunno anymore. It seems like they have 21 working days to complete it by, and if they don't then they don't have any time frame to get it done by. It's a brilliant system:

Do your work by next week, because if you don't you'll get infinite time to do it by!

Is your statement still reflecting verification Y?

Not really. Every person needs to do a certain amount of cases per day and when they are done they may go home so they tend to go through them quickly. It could be that the person dealing with your case was off sick etc and needs to catch up now.
