SARS E-Filing 2019 OPEN!

Just to share guys, i just received a letter from SARS, they need a detailed Logbook, showing details of the trip (From to ) and the reason of the trip. I am busy with that, so if you have not received the completion letter and you claimed for travel, please start updating as might ask it.

Thank you for the update, much appreciated! Good luck!

At least we know that they were working on your file! Really need mine to come through. Any news at this stage is welcome

Another call from the same person asking me to submit a proof of payment for the deduction and just a moment later a notice on eFiling to submit the PoP.

When I try to upload, SARS says that I cannot add FNB PoPs as downloaded (password protected) so I used a PDF printer. But now it's uploading but not submitting, anyone else with the same issue over the past day or so?

For some reason, I trust uploading to eFiling more than emailing or handing in at a SARS office.

Hello
I am experiencing the same problem, have you managed to submit through efiling

^what I'll be doing with my Sars return money

I found the new layout a little confusing, but it was a relatively simple process once I found the right returns page. Says I'm due back ~R4960 let's see how long it takes... :whistling:

Just got my SMS this morning, paid out in full.

Filed on the 3rd, was selected for verification and uploaded docs the same day. Got my completion letter on Tuesday
Lucky you! I haven't got my completion letter ... I uploaded documents on 26 June already, same day as filing. I just phoned SARS and asked what's going on, and they say that the refund is still under audit and the waiting period is within 60 working days (i.e. around 3 months!!!). That's insanity considering that all that changed is my physical address, but I guess they're giving themselves plenty of breathing room in case they wanted to audit me down to my socks. If some people are getting their completion letters already that's giving me some hope at least.

geez and here I filed like ok no Monday this week ... guess I'm in for a loooong wait

I’m hoping today is the day, even if they call me or send me a letter requesting more info. Just give me something... It always feels like the auditor is deliberately delaying, having a bit of fun while taking their time.

Hopefully you hear something today - I was quite lucky to have had such a smooth experience. I can't help but think, wouldn't it be nice if all government depts worked like SARS, compared to the rest of them they seem to be the most efficient.

I'm curious, did they ask for any documentation in relation to your change of address? I know if you change your bank details you have to go in person to a SARS branch to verify your new bank details, but do you have to do the same if you change your physical address?

I really do hope that our's is on someone's to do list today, the suspense is killing me !!!!

Hi if there are any accountants in the group please can you confirm how long it takes for an IRP5 to be uploaded by an employer mine is still not reflecting when I followed up last week they said it was with the auditors but I thaught this should have been done by 31 May or am I mistaken?

I'm not an accountant, but you're right, your employer should have submitted their EMP501 by the 31 May, which includes all their IRP5 certificates for their employees for the period from 1 March 2018 to 28 Feb 2019. It's absolutely inexcusable that they still haven't done this, it really messes their employees around when tax season comes around.
