SARS E-Filing 2021/22

I printed a complaint form, completed it in writing and emailed it. Received a reply in 4 days that they my complaint falls within their area of assistance. I marked it as Systemic complaint...because it is a problem on the system.
Great, thank you for the info.

I will give them a few days to see if they come back to me on the online submission and then try this route.

In 1 week my taxes done for the year! $$$ this morning in. Thanks SARS!

Until next year taxpayers!

So I am a provisional tax payer should this not be 2023? Sars doesnt owe me anything so not in a rush just asking though.

Picture correct for 2022 tax year

All 2022 returns (1 March 2021 - 28 Feb 2022) need to be filed from the opening of the filing season 1 July 2022 until 24 Oct 2022 for 'individuals' and 23 Jan 2023 for trusts and provisionals.

Provisional Tax Payers 'File' 3 times a year.
- every 6 months period 1 end Aug and period 2 end of Feb an optional 3rd payment around September and then the 'full return' by Jan.

So If you became Provisional tax payer during the 2022 return (i.e. you filed 1March2021 to 28 Feb2022 on the 1st July 2022 and they said you were provisional tax payer now - you would have to file your 6 monthly provisional return (estimate) for the first period of 2023 by the 31st August 2022 and then the second provisional return by the 28th Feb 2023 {optional payment in September 2023) and full return [income tax return] for the 2023 tax year = 1March2022-28Feb2023 by Jan 2024.

So I have been a provisional tax payer for a few years now

Does this not mean I have until 23 Jan 2023 to file my 2022 income tax return and if so is this "due date" not incorrect?

Look its not that big of a deal more curious than anything else.

The due date is incorrect. Do you owe SARS money that you want to delay filing? ;)

Took long enough last Thursday 2020 was finalized without changes and Friday late morning 2021 was finalized without changes.
SOA shows refund tomorrow.
Hopefully its not reversed.

Still waitingbon 2020 to be finalised. Been 1.5 months.....

From my experience if everything is in order they will finish the audit and pay your refund.
Might take a call or 2 to remind SARS their deadline has expired.
If you call always be civil and explain nicely that there should be an answer already

So I called in and they said it can take up to 60 working days to evaluate the reopened 2021 assessment. FML

Wil actual branch appointments ever return?
Or have they

So hows this for my nightmare.
Previous employer jipoed my IRP5 for tax period 2021 and therefore SARS was unable to detect any of the tax payments, even though they processed the IRP5 and gave me a refund.
Months later, they started sending me threatening emails, to which I sent on to my previous employer.
3 months later (May 2022), my previous employer finally sends me the correct IRP5 with statements showing payment to SARS, etc.
So I got a tax practitioner involved to try sort this mess out and they logged a notice of objection and a suspension of payment on 16 May. SARS continues to demand all most R30000 from me in socalled unpaid taxes, even though they keep confirming that the tax was paid by my previous employer.

I called them earlier today, dialed 2, entered the reference number and the lady said there is nothing they can do, they cant help me because it still hasnt been allocated to someone to look into and if I want an update, I must phone back and dial 2, like I just did. Little did I know that this was just someone who was taking their last call for the day and trying to clock off, because I called back immediately and was hit with "Sorry, our offices are currently closed".

I am so gatvol of trying to deal with SARS, not to mention how pissed off I am with my previous employer because now I cant get my refund. Worst of all, all the staff that worked during that period have the exact same problem. Some even had accounts frozen by SARS pending payment. Its just 1 big **** show

Just need to mention ombudsman in call to call centre, often not even have to file actual complaint.. have a friend who is a SARS senior honcho .. ombudsman automatically gets your case to top of the file to sort out due to daily branch targets, etc.
