Hi

Yesterday our decoder had no signal for a few hours, and we attempted to reboot it cause that's how we usually get the signal back. Nothing happened in terms of the signal, so we rebooted once more and it loaded with the wrong date (09 September) and wrong time (03;45). i got in touch with dstv via facebooks messenger, and i was troubleshooting for 2hrs with no difference, so we decided to reset to factory defaults.
now im stuck on step 3 of the installation wizard because it cant scan without a signal. Please help, we are stranded.

Pls I tried to restore my settings to factory default I've followed the steps but I'm stuck at step 4 .when l press the ok button it writes signal not strong pls what do I do

Try this -
Blue DSTV Button
Settings
Satellite Settings
Home Network
Launch Installation Wizard
Satellite = ISO 20
Manual Setup
Change User Band Tuner 1 Frequency to 2040
Scroll User Band Tuner 1 Index (from 0 to 7), looking to see which one gives you a signal (perhaps many will)
Select one that gives you a signal, Select SCAN and OK
Check that it is actually scanning (numbers increase).
If not, chose another Index that has a signal, Select SCAN and OK - repeat until it actually scans returning numbers.

You may have to go through this many times, but I got mine sorted to Error 148, whereafter I had to call the service centre to reset my secondary decoder

We recently got a E48-32 and the process above is similar but you can do it with quick setup - if you have a extra view and an explorer - reset the extra view - select tuner 1 (should only be one) then do the same to the explorer and when you get to the tuners - there are 3 - dont select 1!!! select the next one that has signal and you should be sorted - dstv doesnt even know this.
