Scooter question

Maybe you got a dud. A colleague of mine bought a MotoMia about five years ago, it's done 40k still going strong.

Yeah that's fair, but I still got a dud... so duds defs exist. Also have a look online at some of the feedback and you will see that I'm not alone. I can also assure you that service at their repair shop was horrendous. Wait 4 days for them to pick broken scooter up (I lived 15km from their workshop). Wait two weeks for them to fix it. Over a year this happened 4 times.

Honda scooters are 1 million times better for just a slightly higher price

I don't know if you guys know this - but I learnt it one I got my scooter (which was ultimately stolen) but anyways;

Scooters, 125, 150 etc they all use the same parts.
Big Boy Scooters - hell, MotoMia sell the exact same things - the only real thing that changes is the exterior - the interior stays the same on most models which is why they are good things to steal (like mine) because they can take the parts out and use them in other scooters and you wouldn't even know because like I said, they all the same engines / parts.

seriously anyone that is considering the chinese scooters think of it this way...

would you buy a chana bakkie type thing? i mean those crappy chinese bakkies(dont even think i can call them that) because well its cheaper?

Same thing with your phones, why dont you get the chinese iphone 5 compared to the real one?

or would you rather spend a little bit (ok well in car terms its not just a little bit) more and get a decent ford bantam bakkie or decent 2nd hand toyota hilux... obviously new the jap cars will be much more than a new chinese junk. buy a second hand one which is most likely reliable and if you find one (scooter) with under 10000km on it then it will probably still be in good condition.

bargains are definitely out there, I bought my suzuki scooter with 8000km for R5k and all it needed was a new back tyre. im now on 20 000 km and I have had to put in oil twice (around 400ml) and changed the rear tyre twice due to punctures which was my own fault (but those damn nails on the road are hard to see ).

Just rather look for a decent second hand jap bike they are usually in good condition and if you are not sure take a friend or your dad (dad's usually know best or well atleast mine is a mechanic so i guess that just helps )
