Haha, yeah classic sketch. Everytime we go into a lift my son says 'eleven' :D

My Scottish blood tells me to vote YES and reason says YES-YES. :p

except that the first Prime Minister is a dye in the wool socialist of note and the movement is propelled by dangerous nationalist-socialist tendencies

nice statement from my sister: "Yeah, we've been watching all the coverage stuff we can
Hope it doesn't happen I think Cameron has had the wake up he needed"

The actual outcome isn't the deciding factor here - a narrow yes followed by a constitutional assembly could see very little change and Scottish sovereignty reaffirmed

Declaration times and likely outcome...

Here are some of the key constituencies’ declaration times as a list, with the Guardian’s rough expectations of whether each one will vote yes or no in brackets:

2am - North Lanarkshire - 6.3% of the population (yes)
2am - Perth and Kinross - 4.2% (no)
2am - Western Isles - 0.5% (yes)
3am - Aberdeenshire - 4.8% (no)
4am - Fife - 7.1%
4am - Highlands - 4.4% (no)
5am - Glasgow - 11.5% (yes)
5am - Edinburgh - 8.8% (no)
5am - Borders - 2.2% (no)
6am - Aberdeen - 4.2% (no)

Something I don't understand about the No campaign is why they went with "Better together" it would be far better to have focused on the fact that Britain and the United Kingdom are more Scottish than purely English. The educational values, the legal system even on the issue of religious identity. Honestly I would have resonated a lot better with this as a slogan: "Captive Scotland captured her rude conqueror" and "keep the populists in Westminster, we'll keep the Enlightenment" really should be part of Edinburgh

I mean Churchill said the same thing - no nation with the possible exception of the Greeks. Modern British thought Hume, Smith etc ...

So if it a yes, how long do you think it will take for the politics in Scotland to rebalance itself? Forget the first election, which will go likely to the SNP. The greens will still be on the fringe

Scottish labour party will not go away, but my guess is the conservatives will disband or be renamed and reformed.

Up here in Namibia, I have three friends.

Arthur Gordon Wesley Conry
Charles Sinclair
Gordon Sinclair.....

All three of them are Afrikaaners.......

It's those French Vikings! Though Willie the Invader didn't manage to subdue Scotland, his son Henry entered the Land of the Gaels (maybe he thought "girls" - he married Maud, daughter of the Scottish king) and so the Normans came into Alba (to use a phrase ;)). Ever since then the Scots have spoken a foreign language, and imbibed foreign philosophies. Though independence from Westminster is but a first step, real restoration can only come when the Scots throw off the mental shackles of aberrant Continental and English religion and political theory. Socialism is an alien import, and once Independence from the Union is achieved, the process of mental decolonisation can begin! :p

(My own fear is that the infiltration is too great. Perhaps too many Scots have been seduced by the soft life of soft socialism and are prey to irrationality. Even if the vote fails, One Day a New Generation shall arise that values liberty higher than the Bank of England. And then Scotland shall again be free!)

Judging by how the GBP rallied against the USD today, I think the markets have priced in a NO vote already. I'd be very surprised if there was a YES vote.
