Screamer ADSL

Honest opinion? I'm currently looking at getting a line installed (+ADSL of course), and dropping my HSDPA contract with Vodacom.

So far Screamer seems to be offering the best deals, but I'd like stability at the very least since I do a fair bit of gaming. Do you guys reckon I hang on a bit and wait for them to sort out the glitches or should I hop on board as soon as they clear that waiting list?

its still looking good on my side. max line speed.
I did have a short disconnect early during the day.

Try again in 10 mins.

You have no choice :D They not signing up customers right now.

Stuff from Leapfrog (kiddy educational stuff). my lad is only 3.5yrs...

BTW Had another good night last night, completed yesterday with 3.7gig down and already at 1.1gig for today...

I have been averaging between 45 and 55KB/s for this whole week (on 512 line and package). In the last 4 days I have managed about 13gig down and 1.5gig up. Its been the best week so far! As for the month to date; 23 down and 6 up.

so if i have a 4mb line, will it run an 400kbs? or is it like the other packages where you pay for the speed?
 
for the past few days, speeds have been good with Screamer on the HTTP and Torrent front. for HTTP I have a premier Rapidshare account that can go up to 37kb/s, while the Torrent side (using uTorrent) can also go to 37kb/s depending on the amount of seeds and leechers. Often times I don't get a green status, it sometimes changes to yellow or even red but eventually goes back to Green. Still does't interrupt the download though.

I'm using the 384k package by the way.
 
Hopefully when i get home my 3gb file will be done. Was going strong the entire night.

i also have a 4mb line. the speeds are slower than they should be. direct downloads go at around 30kbps. So far the highest download speed I have had is 140kpbs with limewire and 250kbps on a torrent

pretty much the same here. my speeds have been so consistent - i think sometimes I am on G Connect. At times I get 41 KBps.

Unless they have a meltdown, I am not going to move from Screamer.
I know other players are prepping their uncapped offers - but what is the chance that they will come in at a significant cost saving. No way that I will move for R 50pm.
