Screamer ADSL

slow my side to. And here i thought it was me, i tried a whole whak of settings. oh poo..... BSOD here i come.
 
...aaand dead again. Can't even open certain international sites.

It was doing brilliant the last few days, i'm starting to notice a pattern over weekends....i will post a little interesting graph that my bandwidth monitor generates end of the month when i got more data. So far my speeds dropped quite significantly over weekends , and looks like it is happening again.

I can only assume that everyone is going crazy on the downloads over the weekend and capacity runs out.

I am down to 5KB and 0 doesnt seem far away.

maybe I should try rebooting my router (the standard techie response)

I can still get into nzbmatrix.
the thing with the trends - I am not sure how accurate their logs are of my usage - not the value but the timing of it. On some days it will indicate I have done close to 3.5g which on a 384 line is as maxed out as possible (24 hrs at max speed)

What do you guys use for monitoring network traffic?

I can browse somewhat, but i can't log into steam [web and the website] and my monitor is not even goign above 5KB/s for anything, but uploads is going at 15 KB/s....

Anyhow, i'm using CFOSSPeed http://www.cfos.de/speed/cfosspeed_e.htm . It is actually a traffic shaper, but it logs usage per application and protocol (so you can actually see how much you used via browsers/p2p/gaming/streaming and specific apps etc).

And if you're not on Windows 7, Netlimiter 2 Pro is pretty good too also logs per application [although i'm finding the protocol logging of Cfos more useful to look at because netlimiter you need to know about the app to check its usage).

Here's my usage graph from CFosspeed [note i changed PCs so my data starts at 6th of Jan, but i actually got my account on the 1st)

The blue line is total, yellow is steam (i've been downloading from Steam 24/7) . Note the 5GB mark up there, and the blue bar represents 13GB downloads, 500MB upload.
The 13th,14th Jan i got full speed (2.5GB per day/24hrs) , last weekend i was getting merely 1GB a day/24 hrs.

Ultimately what is noticable, the little bump is last weekend = crappy speeds , the big bump is this last week = brilliant speeds almost getting full capacity on my 384 kbps line. So now to see what this weekend will look like.

Thanks. I have logged out of Screamer now - on reconnecting it gives me an error - u/n and p/w invalid on this domain. Now using the 54 cents left on my G Connect account.
 
I just have one problem lately, besides the slow speeds etc etc...

Where is the staff of this company? Noone ansersthe phon, no one responds to email or forums anymore.

That never used to be the case?

Or am I wrong?
 
Decent DDL, bad torrents

Hi Guys,

I seem to have had the following issue this week (wasn't this way last week):
Direct Downloads run at a nice 35K+
Torrents run at 1KB/s or less. No matter how many seeds there are (I have one that has approx 500 seeds).

Browsing is perfectly fine though.

BTW, what happened to our friend Howzit from screamer?
 
My speeds have been somewhat irractic but managed to do 18GB this month so far on 384k line... not too shabby... considering the downtime and speed issues at the beginning of the month. Not to say I dont have issues - Got the same problem as DjEJ but this doesnt happen on all torrents, just selected trackers.... anywho gonna PM Howzit and see if I get a response...

Issue resolved. I called the call centre. Took about 3-4 minutes to be answered.
Spoke to a techie - advised swtich off router - keep it off for 2 minutes - then try again.

Problem: I was already logged on - hence the system threw on that error.
Not sure how that can happen - since I use PPPOE connections.

Anyway, my opinion - call centre was very prompt, efficient and effective.
 
Has anyone here got an uncapped 4096 account from screamer , im looking at changing , but im afraid il run into another digichilli problem. What speeds are you getting?

i have a 4096 10gb account, doesnt run that fast. it runs as if its on a 384 or 512 line most of the times... direct downloads suck..
is anyone else getting slow speeds with a 4096 account?
