I did miss this reply in another thread from you guys (screamer). My questions still stand.

ping wdev.co.za mate see what your latency is.

if its under 300ms. lemme know ill sort u out with a proxy account. allowing for decent gaming latencys.
I get 260ms odd playing wow.

Id ask them to raise your aerial mate. they raised mine around 2 meters all problems seemed to dissapear when LOS was established with Kyalami tower.

That's not really feasible in a complex, and it's already fairly high.

Basically it was all fine, then recently Screamer put something in their office water and everyones IQ dropped 30 points.
 
I know that they are working to resolve the issue with Neotel ... problem identified but not yet fixed. I am awaiting confirmation of the date.

That is a good excuse if Screamer where say a mate of mine. Guess what they NOT! Myself and "CDA" are paying customers. The story of "identifying" the problem is BS. If thats the case give me my money back and still let me use your half baked solution, since at the moment i am paying for to wait and "fix" the issue. I am sorry but Screamer is a company. Guess what, since they advertise an inernet solution, ****ING PROVIDE IT !

it is a bit unfortunate that yourself and cda are having these issues.
but really sofar screamer is one of the better isp companies i have had the pleasure of doing business with.

Wifi quality would be a MAJOR upgrade at this stage. TBO my cell using 3G is rock solid compare to the WiMax service we are using. As a mate mentioned of mine, i think our WiMax connection would work 100% better if one of Screamers techies stood on the roof and bolted himself down as an arial using hand and smoke signals to communicate with the local receiving tower.
 
I have a prob:

I was on Telkom 384 DSL. Was working perfect (well, when the lines were not stolen). They then discontinue due to cable thefts (210 in 3 years).

So they force me on 3G. Works terrible. Connects at 384, disconnects every 4-6 minutes.

I really am interested in getting Wimax. I currently spend R1200 for my 3G.

I tried phoning their sales Dep, but keep getting "We busy, and will phone you back". I get no phone calls back.

Can someone please come back to me? I am interested in Screamer's services!

So frustrated. I need work over this connection, so I'm sure people would understand that remoting over a piss poor 3G connection is like stapling one's balls.

Mine also works perfectly.

I think this cda charater is a bad tempered hack called Colin Alcock who looks for attention with his outrageous statements and blogs knocking all and sundry and Screamers bad luck is that he is a customer who uses their services but continually knocks them.

Yes, it's their bad luck that I'm a customer. They should have treated me better when I had problems.

Either I'm just unlucky, but Screamer has ONE rather useless support staff. It's always the same guy that answers the phone (or doesn't answer the phone more often than not).

The only reason I happen to have a working internet connection through them, is because I eventually just fixed it myself.
 
Sorry, but this may sound like a stupid question..

If I'm on Screamer Wimax, can I connect to saix or IS news server?

My current connection (3G) disconnects every 4 minutes or so.

So frustrating.
