A word of suggestion regarding the challenge.

You said 5 disgruntled members means Howzit losing the challenge. You should make it 5 long-standing members, otherwise a few one-post wonders will join just to get to see a man dancing in a tutu.

Methinks that if Screamer does lose, this news could well be syndicated throughout our media :D
 
That's true - I'm really hoping that poor howzit doesn't have to don a tutu. I think the news from screamers has been reasonably positive over the last little while. I guess we'll see come end of day tomorrow.

I agree with the long-standing members (or at least reputable ones). Obviously they must actually have and have used the service.

Hi,
I am one of the new users, I have never really looked into alternatives to my ADSL because up to recently there wasn't any movement on the market. But now it's worth trying out different options.

Thanks to this forum I didn't bother with screamer.

yeah im switching to afrihost soon gona save me R200
screamer is only R30 cheaper = 5 cokes less a month
i can live with that :p

Couldn't help making my first post here:D

I am currently with Afrihost and have just got my login from Screamer for a 512 uncapped account. If I paid Afrihost my R800 that I am paying Screamer for uncapped I would get 27,5 capped Gigs in a month. I am always running out so decided to give Screamer a go.

Maybe one of you clever grandmasters can work out what I can get now with Screamer. My download speed is currently running at 47Kb and I hope that when their problems are sorted it will improve.

Well - the deal was that they improve and give the deliverables by the end of the 27th so after midnight tonight I'll contact all the people I can who seem to be using screamer and see what the consensus is.

I really hope for our sake and howzit's that things have improved.

Hi Guys
As per normal we are very busy making sure our systems are able to handle the volumes that we hope to be able to supply. Although our systems are rhobust we were let down by some up stream providers and the recognition of our IP's which meant that we were forced to NAT our network which prevented some of our clients using our system for what they needed.

We are committed to providing the SA Consumer with the most affordable broadband available, be it on our own WiMAX network or over ADSL.

We should have our IP's recognised on all networks within the next 2 weeks and we will then stop NAT'ing and will operate as a Tier 1 ISP.

A lot of our clients have been very complimentary about out service but we do realise that there are those that feel we have not given them the ultimate service that we are aiming for and that they expect from us.

As a token of appreciation to those clients who feel they have not received a great service but have stayed with us and helped us by stress testing our systems I have been authorised to offer you a full discount for your November bill.

So if you feel you were not able to use the system to its maximum in Nov please PM me your account no and you will be credited for your Nov invoice. As the debit order runs have already gone through this credit will be applied against your invoice at the end of Dec.

Thanks again for your help and patience. We promise it will be worth it in a week or two.
