Screamer WiMax

Hi all, Just joined MyBB after years of reading it to sort out my computer problems - which are mainly caused by pure stupidity on my part, and sometimes Mr Rich at microsoft.
I applied for screamer yesterday, hopefully it will be a lot better and cheaper than connectimg through my cell phone.

Hi, all, I applied for Screamer on the 5th, and I haven't heard anything from them since. I tried to phone, but cant get anyone to answer, do they have odd working times, or are there just too many people calling in? more importantly is this the kind of service I can expect in the future?

If anyone knows of any alternatives to screamer, as I don't have a Telkom line, please let me know

I applied for the service on Tuesday. I was contacted by a rep on Wednesday afternoon to say they would be performing a site survey on Thursday and true to their word technicians arrived on Thursday morning. Even though I cannot get coverage in my area I was still impressed with the response.
 
Cant get through on any numbers to these guys - internet down since 12h17 - strangely the voice line operates, but not if I try any Screamer support numbers - anyone know whats going on?

Do u guys have any plans to upgrade the wimax and wifi line speeds, 512kbps and 1mbps was wow a few years ago !!
 
Experiencing HIGH latency to WoW today.... sitting on 1200ms to 2000ms... I was under the impression that an upgrade to the tower took place this week???
 
They guys arrived to do the signal tests this morning, they could pick up lots of other wifi's, but not screamer wimax or wifi, bummer, now to try and find another way to connect, any ideas out there?
 
Can anyone suggest a broadband router available currently to get to use with Screamer Wimax?

Well it depends what you are looking for, wireless, wired and secondly what you are willing to pay.
I have a linksys WRT160N and works pretty well, it has alot of settings that you can adjust. It is a Cisco product afterall


And what sold that unit to me was it has great looks as well!!!!!

Do u guys have any plans to upgrade the wimax and wifi line speeds, 512kbps and 1mbps was wow a few years ago !!

We have upgraded a few of our towers and our uncapped clients have the option of going for hgher uncapped speeds but this involves an increase in monthly subs.

Experiencing HIGH latency to WoW today.... sitting on 1200ms to 2000ms... I was under the impression that an upgrade to the tower took place this week???

Is it still high?

Sorry i should have been more specific with regards to the functionality etc but yes i am looking for a wireless router and the one you've referenced seems perfect.

R1800 per month is already pretty steep for 1mbit. I enquired a little while ago but was told my tower could not accommodate anything more for me at that time.

I connect via Wi-Fi to Dainfern.
 
What is the progress on the Brentwood park tower ?

All your helpdesk can say is that there is someone working on it ?
When do you expect it up again since it has been down since noon yesterday ...

It’s almost like you guys are limiting me when I reach a certain amount of downloaded GB per month, and its every month this time of the month. Last time I checked I was on an uncapped account. Seriously getting pissed now!

I'm sorry but our Dainfern towers are full so we can't upgrade the speed there.

Hi, I can guarantee you we do not cap, shape or throttle any uncapped clients. I will get a techie to contact you.

When eventually I spoke to someone at the tech center I was told there was a hardware failure ?
