Screamer WiMax

Mines pretty much completely unusable.

Took a good 10 minutes to open this thread / login.

Never really had this sort of issue before to be honest. Been with Screamer about a year now I think.

Was hoping to use what little time I had this week to play some Starcraft II :(

Tonight is pretty bad, seems to deteriorate badly over the last week and I warned them about this 5 days ago!

Wow was completly unplayable last night also SC2 :( browing seems a little better this morning... hopefully will be able to play wow tonight..

ahh wait no int browsing this morning is a complete **&#@ up sigh...

Oh man sounds like trouble in screamer land. It would be nice to read "My connection is cruising, thanks for the service". Screamer has a lot going for themsleves, when their network / solution is working.

Latency is still high again, 200ms more with packet loss. I cant raid like this :(. Ventrillo is also lagging by massive 500ms-700ms more than usual.

damn gotta pay for battleping now lol
oh well was a good service will sign up for it... :)

getting between 5 and 7 % packet loss - kind of frustrating. Even tried bypassing my router just to check. So far since the "upgrade" of the Helderkruin tower things have gone south

Screamer support and customer service are great, but on the network side I am getting tired of having to call at least once a week to find out why my connection is either down or browsing is completely dead (this last week has been particularly bad). If the network issues get sorted out I will be a happy customer, but so far random speeds and 100ms local pings just aren't doing it for me.

The tech told me they may be moving the tower closer (into my suburb) which may help the situation - but pinging the tower gives me between 2 - 9ms average latency, leading me to believe there is some issue connecting the tower to the Telkom network. Is anybody else in the Edenvale/Greenstone area having similar issues?

Getting disconnects and timeouts all night tonight from Helderkruin Tower.

Does anyone know if the Screamer towers are connected via fixed lines? I ask because I was noticing huge pings (100ms+) from my tower to the next two IP's, both on the same network. A friend of mine said this probably means that the towers are linked via microwave, which is why my latency is so bad.

Could anyone confirm this? I know Screamer's website says that no part of their network is dependent on wires.

Having big issues with Screamer Wimax. My connection timeouts when browsing sites at same time, or when playing online and browsing sites at same time. This happens 100% of the time.

Are we been throttled?

Does anyone know if there is a site which details where Screamer is having issues? I know when I was with Webafrica the main page had details of any issues with specific areas or services, but I can't seem to find a similar thing on the Screamer site.

Sorry but what I been hearing today is completely bad practice and unacceptable.

I was currently on a 1mb Screamer Wifi.

I mention to Screamer I was planning to cancel my account 3 months ago but I didnt go through with it, I didnt even send a cancellation form. As far as I am concerned you dont process any cancellation until the client has sent though a cancellation form.

What did Screamer do?

Well they claim I did officially cancel and then I rescubscibed again, which I never did at all.

So what did they do?

Well they cancelled me and when I supposedly resusbscribed again then put me back on a 512kb line and are still charging me for a 1mb.

I was told after I supposedly cancelled that they put more people on my tower so now they cant offer my original speed back.

I been mailing people in Screamer to ask why I was on 512kb when I was originally on 1mb and only to find out today all of this.

I am seriouslly pissed off about this.

Today I am faced with horrible connection issues where I am timming out every few minutes when even browsing sites. Bandwidth issues?
