Screamer WiMax

Canceled and moved on... Could not wait any longer new service by Thurday.. Hope it will be good....
 
Wel..... stranger things have happened, but I just received my call and the techies will be at my house tomorrow.:)
The poor okes have to work on the public holiday, but that is more than OK with me:D

Every since that routine maintenance about 2 weeks ago my router regularly drops the PPPoE connection. It reconnects within 10-15 seconds but is hightly annoying.
Anyone else experience this?

Yes.

It's happening because Screamer had some of their Wimax equipment confiscated.
They are now experiencing failures within their network as a result.

How about we start an online petition? Surely the CPA would help us?

Me, too. I hit 'reply' on this thread fifteen minutes ago, Screamer.

Yesterday I tried to call tech support about this - despite being no.1 in the queue, I never got to talk to anyone.

I can't download anything. I'm really pissed off, now.

Emails to CEO + Ops Manager + Technical Manager and support goes all unanswered - some service hey

I am stuck with these guys becos I don't have any other provider besides the cellular guys who are costly

Amobia... Will be connecting to Dawnview Tower 1.57KM away.. so the tech who did the site check says will get full speed..

Its more expensive than Screamer for the same 10gigs... But if screamer now connects to Samlam tower and no long Dawnview I think my connection will not be great...
Now waiting for Amobia to install..

They are offering a special of R999 for instalation and hardware.. so cheap.. internet is a month 2 month... I have opted for the 2meg line.. Hard Cap... will post once its up..

The techie came around on Tuesday and got me back up and running - no issues since then. Interestingly, it seemed that the issue wasn't on my CPE or the tower, but something to do with my account?? (it seemed to be rejecting the PPPoE dialup).

I dunno... I find the whole thing a bit suspicious and opaque, but if its working again, I'm happy.

lucky you, i am still waiting, still no responses from technical, don't know what to do anymore - I AM DEFEATED - I GIVE UP - CAN'T MOVE ON AS THESE GUYS ARE THE ONLY REAL BROADBAND SERVICE PROVIDERS IN THE AREA I STAY - BESIDES THE CELLULAR GUYS WHO ARE VERY COSTLY - AT THEIR MERCY - whats sad and disappointing though is their non care attitude - from CEO to chief technical executive - not one response to any emails :(

I got action by phoning the guys that installed for me originally - tech support from screamer didn't bother to pick up their phones.

I know exactly what you mean.... can not play any games, can not downlod anything, most sites timeout. It is almost as bad as not having a connection at all:twisted:

Called the guy that installed for me - says nothing he can do until his Head office sorts out some issues - called Screamer HO says installer will have to do something at my place to "reconnect account" mmmmmm, notes i have to wait till next week when installer is free ! booked for Mon

tell me about it - I've given up complaining - no one cares yet my debit orders were processed
 
OK so Amobia.. after getting emails thats its a standard install (no extra cost for a complex install) this is now after site check etc... Put out a special via email to me.. I guess because I did not reply the same day for half price at R999.. So Tuesday I make payment and they say Thursday they will install... Thursday morning and nothing.. I email them and get a reply that now its a complex install because they need to use a 4 meter pole instead of 3 meters so they want R700 extra.... So by now I think Sharks.. and don't except it.. in the mean time Screamer call me to get the techies out.. Friday morning they out and replace wimax with wifi.. still connected to dawnview tower.. Works like a dream.. even better than Wimax.. go figure.. Latacey between 25 and 50... speed similar.. we have the 1 meg connection..
Why I was not connected to Wifi from day one... is anyones guess would have saved a good few bucks and it would have not gone down...
 
Well, my connection died again on saturday. Phoned them, and now the call was set to higher technical escalation, or something like that.
Really now!!! need to get a solution urgently!!!
