Screamer WiMax

The problem is not with the connection to the tower i.e. it occurs either at the boundary to the upstream provider or within the upstream provider.

Yeah, and it all got 100 times worse when they decided to put ADSL users on it too...

ive been waiting to get my public ip working since about 1 December 2009 and still not working. And getting hold of them is a mission. When things go wrong there rep howzit just vanishes. The internet quality is bad. Lastweek i was on the phone with one of there support people next thing the phone goes down and they do no effort to call you back. Cant screamer become more professional like vodacom business or telkom. Plus why do they route us through a transparent cache ?? because of that i can benefit from the nice features of open dns. why why why i dont know who there main tech guy is but i think he doesnt really know what he is doing.

For my sins I will be in this property for a couple of months longer than I expected ... more Screaming for me (at least until end May and possibly June) :/

I'm not really clued on all of this, but is it possible to have the antenna installed inside the house? Would it affect reception a lot?

In my complex people moan about things being installed on the roof.

not that it matters since there are SO many people complaining about Screamer... I've been a happy customer for a month.
Odd 2 minutes downtime every now and then*
Odd Jitter on the line when using their VoIP service.

* Please note that every now and then is defined as a period of 10 to 14 days

Maybe things have improved lately, but I'm still incredibly sour from my past experiences. The defiant, arrogant and blatantly rude support desk (who has more than once tried to tell me that changing my DNS server will fix packet loss). The crooked, thieving accounting department. The numerous weekend and night long outages with zero connectivity to the bryanston tower.

And to top it off, when you complain about the above you get bad excuses, and more arrogance and the ever typical "upstream provider" nonsense - or you just get absolutely no response.

That and the fact that when something goes wrong outside of business hours, no one there seems to give a damn.

Hi Guys

We have now completed some of our upgrades and there are 2 more to go. If you are not happy with your service or are getting some anomolies please PM me so we can get them sorted.

but still playable. hopefully tonight will be better. :)

Hi Guys...and gamers in particular

We have started putting some serious effort into improving your gaming latency on our network and hopefully you have already seen some improvement this week (apart from the odd 3 to 5 mins spike, which we know does not help in a fight).

We have another large upgrade planned for Mon night and hopefully this will get rid of the spikes and improve the latency even more.
