Seacom down....again

Hello Friends,

Our phanton cable, namely Seacom (aka SeeSawCom), is down.

Due to the diligent nature of the company running it, they cannot be reached for comment.

Details of the outage is sketchy. We are trying to establish an ETA, and will communicate it to you as we have more information.

For our Platinum and Gold clients, SAT3 redundancy would've kicked in by now. SAT3 access will be provided on a priority level, eg Platinum, then Gold, then Standard and then the other accounts.

International traffic will be affected. All local traffic will still operate normally.

On behalf of the phanton cable, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience!

i love how they dont post ANYTHING about the problems they are having on the seacom website. but only if they think something is good. they post. using the word think as a very thin line. as it generally is short lived.

Hey Friends,

Luckily for the SA internet community, Seacom did not pull another two weeker on us.

All is up and running.

According to Seacom - SMW4, a cable that Seacom connects with, had a dip. All was restored shortly thereafter.

All I have left to say is, happy downloading!

Not that I've noticed hey. Which ISP are you? I'm on IS and my line is fine.

i am with axxiss but was away from pc for a while,it seems fine again now
