Submarine cable operator Seacom hit by DDoS attacks

Submarine cable operator Seacom said it was hit by a high-volume distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on Tuesday.

It joined other notable local Internet infrastructure companies in fending off large-scale DDoS attacks in recent weeks, including Host Africa, Domains.co.za, Xneelo, 1-Grid and Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

Really bad title... DDoS does not affect fibre operators, in this case it's the Seacom ISP that is being attacked. And Seacom doesn't peer with other south African networks so they not the good guys
