Seacom is down

welp, still have some vodka left from the w/e. good excuse as any. *drownsorrows*
 
Oh ffs. The one time when I forget to pay WA & consequently sitting on Seacom b/w...it goes down minutes later.
 
damn, I have a gmail address and can't work now. O well, I'll play a game of Age instead...
 
haha... now where's that article about which websites work on local? :D
 
Now what happened to that, gmail/ youtube/ facebook being on local servers, article?
Time they make it properly local so we can actually login, etc without needing international.

was just thinking the same thing.....facebook seems to work but not google / gmail......guess their local servers still use seacom to connect to rest of the world....
 
SEACOM were supposed to route via Egypt at the end of June.

Any idea if that is still imminent, or if that has anything to do with today's downtime?
 
There is currently an outage on both of our Seacom links, which we believe is affecting all ISP’s using Seacom for their international bandwidth. At this stage we do not have an ETA for when the service will be restored.
