Not all sites are located in the US, most of my international services are located in Europe.

EDIT: guy above, true but I have never had an issue. I have a 120mbps beast connection.

It's not just about speed, but also about the % of the country covered. Last I've heard, more % of SA is covered in 3G than in the States.

But the States is 4 times bigger than SA, so I guess that would be true :)

Yes, that's the problem with our country, our ranch states are treated like the 1700s but still, we have come a long way for example I was living in NY now in MO and yet I have an absolutely amazing connection. Better than the 70mbps garbage I had in NY.

um, its quite a LOT bigger, considering at 8 hours a day driving, its takes 3 days to drive east to west across the state of texas.

and they have more that one thieving telephone company that lays adsl lines and a couple more than our thieving cell companies to offer 3g

According to Wikipedia, it's about 8 times larger than SA. Insane!

It is included in my University fee (I live on residence). I am not sure how much but some universities can run up to 500mbps. All I know is that it is fibre optic, I am not much of a technical person but the only cable I know of is the one used for PPV.
 
So any ideas when this will be up again? I hate using my telkom accounts :(
