Secondary Income

I am a government employee and need to fill in an Declaration of Interest form every year. You must state any work you do after hours, if you are a director or owner of a company, whether any family member has a company doing business with municipalities and the list goes on and on and on.

All good and well, but unfortunately it doesn't make any difference to the corruption in SA.

Until you get caught, but since they're not really interested in that, chances are you can get away with it for a long time, until retirement even

You only get caught once you've fallen out with the wrong crowd.

Can we get back on topic please, looking for ideas :)

Dividends, share portfolio growth, invest in a franchise, rental properties, start a website, wash dogs, IT support, mow lawns, clear gutters, paint roofs :P

My passive income is pretty small at the moment. My passive income will eventually be from investments. The goal is to be able to live just off the growth of my investments.

I have a few hobbies which could be turned into income generating hobbies.

That's the thing :D all great ideas have been implemented.

//Brain stretch...

LOL, there's a guy that wanted to close the US patents office decades ago claiming that everything possible had already been invented... Boy was he wrong :P

Rental income would be good . If all goes well about 4 months from now mine would be about 11k after deducting bond

same here. Warehouse, but paid off so nett passive income is R11K. HOWEVER.. we have not had much in the line of capital gain. so it begs the question whether investing the R1.5M with coronation or whereever would not be a better idea....

Have a secondary income netting about 45K/month. Increasing it any more would require quitting my day job and taking a huge pay cut. A really difficult decision to make...

Deets, please.

Invested half my life savings into starting a hosting company 5 years ago. Only recently started showing a return, so plenty of catching up to do.

I do have a well-paying day job which is more interesting and challenging. I'm finding this difficult to 'give up' for potentially something much bigger.

Cool, thank you :)
