You must be coining it, to be able to afford a White House...When my passive income exceeded my regular income, I sold the business. This generated some money for further investments. Currently it is 45% rented property, 40% shares and 15% other stuff (one novel investment is cleaning of LPG and other containers and refurbishing them)
I also fix other people's computers and routers when they get stuck. Many many people are clueless about this. Brings in an average of R2500 a month and I only do it when I feel like it
Invested half my life savings into starting a hosting company 5 years ago. Only recently started showing a return, so plenty of catching up to do.
I do have a well-paying day job which is more interesting and challenging. I'm finding this difficult to 'give up' for potentially something much bigger.

I always thought a hosting company was a low capital option
Curious to know what percentage of your time goes into the hosting company.
How do you strike a balance between employed job, hosting job and family life?
Hi Guys,
I was just wondering how many people have a secondary income be it active or passive. I would be interested to know what it is and have you been able to see the rewards?
Teachers earn a basic salary, yet we are prohibited from earning a secondary salary for it may affect our dedication and performance.
Any secondary income above a certain amount (I actually don't know the number but it would be quite easy to find out) would have to be declared and subjected to approval ... which I doubt it would.
So if I fix computers after hours and I make say R4000 a month extra I would probably have a problem with the department.
