Seether - Careless Whisper

I think you all have gone off on a tangent for actually getting into the part where this song is being used for commercial value - IMO anyway.

I really can't see them having done this for commercial value or because of it being something they really wanted to cover.

I would reckon it was just one of those songs that came up by mistake while playing some riffs and they got round to messing around with it and recording it.

I don't care much for Seether, but I saw this as cool in a funny kinda way.
I see this cover of the song as a jam session that went haywire :p
Like Travis doing Britney's "Hit me baby one more time" :p :D

tera - they did it for the American pop-loving crowd which = selling yourself out for money - no two ways about it. Not sure why you're feeling so offended by all of this. (Sh)It happens. This is not what you would expect from Seether is it? It's like Marilyn Manson releasing a gospel "world music" album. He'd be strung up by his testicles by his fans. Same story here with Seether...

Marilyn Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams - good. Therefore he was not strung up his testicles.
Seether's cover of Careless Whisper - shoddy. They deserve to be strung up by their testicles...

Go a few more miles down the road we've travelled, and you will see, you will see, what you have to be ;) :D :p

Wow so you actually know something about music and not only techno bass mindless noise after all

:p

I'm sorry, but they are crap now, as they were in the day when they played in student pubs as saron gas. They are about as original as the oasis sound is from the beatles sound, and basically perfected the bush sound and then just carried on where bush stopped.

But hey, they have accomplaished what they wanted, this is the very reason why they left for the states, wanted to become accepted by the pop rock masses, so kudos to them, this will bring in the money

ahhh The old argument , they playing in pubs , in small clubs , sleeping in cars , eating every now and then , damn they hot they so cool !!

Oh no , they got signed ! They selling records ! They making money !! They cant do that !!!

People i have news for you for you even that small artsy band playing in some dingy club , no matter what they say about its the music and the vibe blah blah blah , deep down they dream of making it big

And btw i listenend to them when they were saron gas , i diged them when they became seether and i stil think thye a very good band , and kudos for them makling it big

Buddy, read my post again, I did not even like them when they were a student band

commercial whatever. thing is that when you see that seether have covered a scmaltzy track like that you have an expectation that they are going to thoroughly trash it and impose their own style. on that score: fail.

Damn this could have been a good cover if it was not so damn slow, geez why on earth did they make it so flippin slow? You know seether is out of idea's for decent music when they make a slow crap cover like this.

I am sure they could have come up with their own really lame song if they wanted to which would have been better if you ask me.

But if I go by your nick, then you are of the female persuasion, of course you will like it!! The ballad genre were created with women in mind. Ballads... turning rockers into pansies!!

Looks like everyone is doing covers these daysFirst its was that Hilary Duff woman and now Seether... mmmm atleast they did a better job of covering an oldie than she did.....
