Seether - Careless Whisper

Fsucking disgraceful mangling of an awesome pop tune. George Michael is a great vocalist, Sean Morgan really exposed his mediocrity.

Very nicely done! Heard it on 5fm today - very catchy!!

Whatever dude. Not every music lover in the world, whether it be hard rock/metal or any other style gives a damn about this "uncommercial", "mediocre" labelling trips that these snot nose punks are on about. Sorry, but I take offense on Sean's part, he's a great vocalist and great artist, in his own right.

Ah tera, no need to take offence on his behalf. I'm sure after hearing the final mix he's as offended and ashamed as anyone else that isn't tone-deaf...

He's got greater tone than you know. Have you seen a live show? If you haven't, you can't comment.

Sean Morgan + Amy Lee are both of the two artists whom actually sound better live than on a recording. Quote me on it.

I'm not speaking out against Seether's music, just that they shouldn't do something of which they're not technically cabaple, which is clearly the case. The guitarist, for instance, plays a simplified version of the saxophone melody in the intro and the drummer uses clumsy drumming, whereas the original has jazz drumming, etc.

I wouldn't be able to call myself South African if I hadn't seen Saron Gas...

You're getting far too defensive over such a **** cover, tera.

Um right, I think it actually sounds a bit worse than the original. Dont get me wrong now, im a big fan of seether and always have been, was a fan before they even made it big, but this is not seether.
This smacks of some US producer trying to coin some extra buck by covering an old great in time for valentines day.
Can anybody actually get Shauns take on this? Why did they do it?
Ive been looking and cant find any. That alone just makes me want to puke all over it, knowing that its more of a commercial value track than something personal from the band.

Like I say below, I don't care much for the cover. I do think that Sean is capable of holding is own in the music industry though and I won't label him as mediocre or "commercial" as a lot of these twits do which know a few 1923 MuDvAyNe songs etc.

I don't have definitive knowledge in music, but I know how to spot a good artist/band, whatever the genre.

I don't mind the cover. It's way too slow for me in any case. If I had to cover it, I would riff it up and drop the beats :p ;) :D

Edit: :stares to the top, lol:

I think Barney Simon said that was the exact reason(without accusing them of doing it for the money.)

apart from my above post.... i reckon knowing the music shaun likes to make, this isnt it, and hed probably puke over that track before any of us do...

Just don't talk about the money, please. Seriously, in 1978 when the Rolling Stones sang in a back yard, even they got ticked off if their fans labelled them money lovers or "commercial" entitites.

It's as if anyone with half a brain and 100 metal/rock playlist history thinks that it's good music conversation to start the whole "commercial" trip
